Running away, what's the use?
In the night, her cellphone chimed once, indicating that a message had been received. Qiao Xia, immersed in her own world, didn't notice the phone and eventually drifted off to sleep. The next day, she had thought that Mu Liang would take her away, but to her surprise, Mu Liang hadn't left, nor had he suggested leaving.
They were both so exhausted that they slept until noon. By the time she woke up, it was already evening. Mu Liang had prepared a lavish dinner, setting the dining table on the rooftop. The table and chairs were white, a glass bottle chilled a bottle of wine, fragrant candles were lit on the white table, and a small vase contained a single red rose, vibrant and dripping with color.
