Lexi raised an eyebrow when Zach suddenly started smiling creepily and giggling but didn't bother asking about it. Instead, she looked around to take in the aftermath of the battle against the Hydra. She had expected devastation and ruin, but it wasn't as bad as she had thought it would be.
Ciel was completely ruined, and it would probably take years to rebuild. But she thought the Hydra would have bathed the East in fire and smoke. However, it barely looked like the east had been touched by fire. It looked more like the Hydra had trampled on all the houses and shook the earth until the buildings around it crumpled.
A section of the city was complete smithereens, however, so Lexi could figure out that was where the main fight had taken place. But there was no body there. A body as large as the one she had seen in the Labyrinth would not disappear that quickly. It would take weeks for people to move or dismantle it.
She recalled what the First Child had done.
