Rain stayed by Alexander's side at the hospital, watching over him as he remained unconscious. Dr. Lambert had given him something to flush the drug out of his system. What Carla had given him was a version of the oxytocin drug, but stronger, designed to cause hallucinations.
While she sat beside his bed, Rain received updates on the situation. She also watched the news in their VIP room and learned that the President had passed out. She felt a pang of sympathy for the old man, but there was no way she would let Carla off the hook for what had happened.
Not after they uncovered that Carla was the one Rico's man had contacted.
As Rain sat in thought, Alexander began to stir. Slowly, his eyes opened, and he groggily glanced around.
"You're finally awake," Rain said with a gentle smile, relief flooding her chest.
Alexander groaned. "Ugh, that drug is really something. I thought I was going to lose it."
