_Hailey's POV
I have never been this afraid in the entirety of my life. My Caesar, my dear poor boy, my lovely son. If I hadn't acted quickly enough, that stupid servant would have taken my son's eyes out with his sword. I was lucky to have heeded my wolf signs and stepped out to the training grounds the instant I felt that something was wrong.
What would I have been saying now? What would have been the fate of my son? He would have to live out the rest of his life without an eye or what's worse mentally damaged from the wound and the poisons from the sword.
It was a good thing I immediately intervened. But Ava was there and she didn't do anything. Ava knew Caesar would never intentionally hurt a fellow human yet she was going to stand there and watch my son's eyes get gouged out. This was not a proper portrayal of loyalty and love. I wasn't even sure whether to trust Ava any longer.
"Mommy, can I return to the training grounds tomorrow?"
