Chapter 271 - Chapter 281 Okay

In the dark room.

Carl was like being blindfolded and couldn't see anything.

Carl didn't like this. Darkness represented the unknown, which made Carl feel insecure. But today was different. Carl could wait patiently.

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you..."

With a chorus of many voices, the room became lit.

Those were colorful little candles, under the candles was a three-layer cake, under the cake was a cart, and behind the cart was Beth.

Sofia and Mika helped on both sides, and many people followed behind them.

But the candlelight was too weak. Even though there were fourteen candles of different colors, they were too small and could not illuminate too far.

But Carl didn't need to do anything at this moment, nor did he need to be in a hurry to see anything. He just needed to sit and wait quietly.

"Carl, happy birthday to you." The cart stopped in front of Carl and Beth smiled brightly.

"Happy birthday, Carl." Sophia smiled and was very happy, as if it was her own birthday.

"Happy birthday, Carl." Mika also followed suit.

"Carl, you're one year older." Rick behind him smiled with satisfaction.

"Carl, happy birthday, boy, you will become stronger and stronger." Michonne smiled.

"Judith, come on and wish your brother a happy birthday," Lori said with a smile as she hugged Judith.

"Happy birthday, brother." Judith said in a baby voice.

"Judith, hello, do you want me to hug you?" Carl also smiled.

"Okay, brother, hold me." Judith opened her arms and leaned towards Carl, but Lori held her back. "Don't make trouble. Your brother hasn't blown out the candles yet."

Karl smiled helplessly and withdrew his hand.

"Happy birthday, Carl." Sisters Andrea and Amy.

"Happy birthday, Carl." Maggie, but without Glenn.

There were a lot of people, a lot of people. Almost all the familiar ones came and took turns to congratulate, except for a few special ones.

For example, Liz, More, Daryl, Joseph, and everyone else said "Happy Birthday" with or without a suffix, and with any emotion.

Beth took out a paper birthday hat and put it on Carl. She patted Carl on the shoulder and said excitedly, "Okay, Carl, make a wish and blow out the candles."

"Okay." Although Carl thought the birthday hat was stupid and the party was stupid, since Beth liked it, why not?

Carl clasped his fists in front of his chest and closed his eyes, a very standard posture for making a wish.

After a few seconds, Carl opened his eyes and looked at Beth, "Blow out the candles with me."

"So soon? What did you wish for?" Beth asked curiously.

"It won't work if I say it out loud, but I don't believe it anyway, so it doesn't matter if I say it out loud." Carl smiled, looked at Beth, and said seriously, "My wish is very simple. We are together forever, and nothing can separate us."

"Carl." Beth glared at Carl indignantly, her cheeks flushed. If it were normal, it would be fine, but now there were dozens of people here, and Beth suddenly felt a little embarrassed and angry.

"I'm serious." Carl still smiled and looked at Beth.

The scene was absorbed for a moment, and then suddenly a whistle sounded.

"Huh! Uh! Kiss him! Kiss her!" It was Moore. Moore was always the kind of person who liked to watch the fun and take no trouble.

"Clap, clap, clap." Someone started clapping again. Several voices clapped and cheered, "Kiss her! Kiss her!"

Perhaps it was the herd mentality, or perhaps most people had a good impression of Carl Beth and wished her well, more and more people started to cheer and applaud.

Carl smiled, without any hesitation, he hugged Beth's body and kissed her deeply.

"Woohoo! Pah pah pah!"

The screams, clapping, and booing became louder and louder, and more and more people joined in.

But there are always exceptions, like Sophia, who stood aside, biting her lip, trying not to show her grievances.

And Liz, who was in the corner of the room, had an unprecedentedly cold look in her eyes and clenched her fists.

After a long while, Carl parted his lips and smiled, "I've changed my mind. It seems that this party is not as stupid as I thought at first."

"I think you're pretty stupid." Beth pouted, her shyness reduced by a lot.

"Okay, help me blow out the candles, and then I can turn on the lights." Carl said with a smile.

Beth nodded, and suddenly noticed Sophia's expression. She walked over to Sophia and pulled Sophia to the cart.

Beth asked softly, "Sophia, let's blow out the candles together, okay?"

"But...is it possible?" Sophia asked weakly.

"Of course." Beth agreed immediately.

But Sophia's eyes moved to Carl, and Beth's compelling gaze immediately followed.

Karl sighed in his heart, smiled bitterly, and could only agree, "Of course."

"Come on, let me count to three, two, one." Beth held Sophia's right hand, and Carl held her left hand.

"Three, two, one."

"call!"

The candles went out, the lights came on, and the room became bright again.

"Happy birthday to you..."

With Beth taking the lead, everyone started singing Happy Birthday again.

"I think we can start dividing the cake. There is a little greedy guy who can't wait."Carl took Judith from Lori. Although Lori felt that it was not appropriate now, at least the cake had not been divided, but today Carl was the birthday boy, so Lori still went along with Carl's wishes.

"Beth, can you help me share the cake?"

"Of course." Beth began to divide the cake. The cake was very large, and she divided it into small plates.

Sophia took a plate first, but she didn't rush to eat it. She spread some cream on her fingers, then looked at Carl and blinked.

"Oh, no, don't do that." Carl smiled helplessly.

Carol held Sophia's shoulders and comforted her softly;

"Sophia, don't waste it. This cake was hard to come by and it took us a lot of effort. Besides, we should save food now. Many people haven't eaten cake in several years."

"Okay, Mom." Sophia pouted and agreed.

Carl stood up holding Judith, smeared some of the cut cake on the table with his fingers, walked to Sophia, and smeared his fingers on Sophia's face, leaving a small cream mark.

"Carol, I want to have some fun today and not care about too many other things. It's what I want. I hope everyone can have some fun. So, Carol, let Sophia play."

"What can I say?" Carol spread her hands helplessly and smiled, "Well, you're the birthday girl today, you have the final say."

"Thank you." Carl nodded and smiled at Sophia, "Come on."

"Hey, watch your back." Beth's voice suddenly came, and then Carl's face became more creamy.

"Oh, maybe I should take Judith away." Lori said a little worried.

"She's very happy."

Yes, Judith was smiling.

Carl smiled too, well, nice party.
