The new regulations stipulate that each team is still only allowed three members to participate in the competition, but in addition to this, it is both permitted and required to have two substitutes. Once the main members are defeated, substitute members can replace them in the following matches.
For example, if two very strong teams meet early and have a fierce battle, one team defeats the other, but both sides suffer casualties. One side is entirely wiped out, while the other has two members beaten. In the past, regardless of who won or lost, all would be eliminated. Such a scenario could lead to the real strong teams being eliminated due to luck and not make it to the end.
