Chapter 637 - My House, My Rules!

Black was getting bored.

He was constantly using Biokinesis to keep his body from bursting apart. And, if that wasn't enough, a part of his mind was still in a dormant state, refusing to think about his father and the things that had happened.

In this matter, he was vastly different than Kai.

Where Kai had an actual brain and was just assisted by the Ad Infinitum, Black's brain was too intricately linked with the AI. One could understand this from the fact that before infusing AI, Black wasn't even alive, per se.

All in all, Black did possess a brain, which was a mirror image of Kai's brain, but if one took out Ad Infinitum from the picture, he wouldn't be able to even think.

But because of this exact reason, Black also had an advantage.

When needed, Black could shut off any part, or Concept, regarding his mind, letting the AI take control of it. In the case of Kai, even though he could do the same, it wasn't as thorough as in the case of his Item's.

It didn't come as a surprise that Black was coming out of the hellhole of Cognitive Dormancy much faster than Kai.

Even the matter of Nyarlathotep and the Objective of his Main Mission, which now seemed to have stemmed from Timeline's request as per the Great Old Contract, was also buried by the AI.

So, yes. Black was getting bored.

With no more active worries regarding his father, no more uncountable active Lucky Intuitions bombarding him constantly (-as the AI was filtering them out-), and no more active synchronization between him and Kai, he had just nothing to do.

He hadn't even begun searching for the Horcruxes hidden in the castle by Merlin.

Black wasn't sure what Dumbledore had learned from the Order of the Immortal Lotus, or what kind of changes he had gone through.

Even more important issue was that Dumbledore might be too onto everyone right now, what with all the stuff he had gone through.

The Headmaster being skeptical of everyone wasn't in Kai's favor, Black had concluded.

So, he had decided to wait till the latter half of the term before executing all his plans.

Till then there was stuff that needed his attention.

Just not at this moment!

What a pain… Black frowned, sprawling on the sofa. Should I just block all my memories related to magic so that I can develop some interest in the classes?

Black's boredom would have been caught by all the professors, the students, and even plants if it wasn't for him being a Faceless.

He looked at the fireplace, feeling no hunger.

He had already devoured enough Contestants to fuel his Biokinesis.

Not to mention, there was more food in the Inventory. Eating the normal stuff was OK at best, but it wasn't satiating. He constantly needed to hold himself back, which needed an enormous amount of energy, which, in turn, exponentially increased his metabolic rate.

If Black stopped holding himself back and instead began saving his energy, then any casual touch of his would disintegrate a normal human; even if he were to brush them barely.

Being too powerful was also a pain in the ass, it seemed.

What a pain… Black lampooned, yawning. Should I just dissect myself in a thousand pieces, store them somewhere, and then use my head to create a fresh, but slightly weakened body?

He looked around, observing the corners of the Common Room.

Suddenly, with a jolt, Black sat up straight as if he had found the greatest thing of interest. A playful grin danced upon his lips, arching his mouth to the ears.

Hmm… Black narrowed his dark eyes with Calm. There's one thing I have been postponing to test out. I can start experimenting with it now and… simultaneously have fun with it for the entire term… Haha!

Let's not even talk about the number of Items he currently held, there was no denying that the number of Skills, Abilities, Titles, and even the sheer number of Attribute Points in Kai's arsenal had gone through the roof, especially when one considered his equivalent Floor.

Still, there were Skills Kai possessed that needed constant experimentation to understand their nature thoroughly.

Nothing Is Impossible was one such Skill.

My House, My Rules was another.

Alright, let's try it out, Black thought, standing up.

With his Mana reserves, Black covered the entire Gryffindor's Common Room. It covered all the main sitting and gathering areas, leaving no space unordinary.

Over 400 MP vanished instantly.

The Common Room's space, as willed by Black, lit up with golden-blue rays of light. He looked up and saw the rays of light disappearing right where the roof began.

I see, he thought. So the Skill is only applicable within the definition of Room. Reasonable.

Of course, he didn't need to think anything. The Ad Infinitum already recorded, analyzed, and calculated all data without him needing his input. However, he was also a Faceless. If he had learned anything with all his experience, it was that all beings must play their part in the act.

[

Skill My House, My Rules is applicable in the assigned space — House Common Room

State one Rule the Contestant would like to reject…

]

"I reject… Gravity," Black said, smiling deviously. He wanted to see what was the scope of the word Rule in the Skill. "Twelve times a day, randomly."

He was really testing the Skill's limits with this one. It seemed OK to reject Gravity, but to apply conditions over it, and to make it random? It was obvious what Black wanted to do by not stating at exactly which time should the Gravity be rejected.

[

Processing Request…

Gravity can be rejected by the House Common Room only once every 24 hours randomly

Do you want to continue with it?

]

Black nodded, accepting the limits.

[State one Rule the Contestant would like to impose…]

He looked at the notification and licked his lips.

Black wanted to have the fun of a lifetime with this Skill, he decided, and… imposed the most unnatural rule!
