Chapter 132- Arrival (2)
(PRINCE MARSHALL'S POV)
The door to the drawing room opened, "Who dares to visit at a time like this" I mumbled after hearing that I had a guest. I noticed Marchioness Radisson as I entered the room. "Madame Radisson" It's been years since her last visit, I glanced around, noticing that person wasn't with her.
I motioned my hand to the butler, "Bring some refreshments" as I sat across from her.
"Marshall" Her tone was cold as usual as we made eye contact, her light gold eyes stared at me with intensity. "I heard that Queen Malaysia will be attending the conference," she said.
I nodded. Queen Malaysia hasn't attended to any of the Kingdom's affairs since the exile of Moises. Now that he's back, what is she up to? I questioned as I clenched both of my hands together.
"What do you intend to do about Prince Moises?" She asked, "We managed to weaken him 10 years ago. But if he manages to recover his full strength, he will take revenge against the aristocratic faction"
The room fell silent for a moment as the butler entered the room, placing the tray of refreshments onto the table. The butler bowed before leaving the room.
"As long as the coronation goes as planned, I'll be crowned King, and I'll be able to deal with the Winter Dukedom"
Madame Radisson stood up, her right hand resting on the top of her cane. "If the marriage between the Vanuatu Kingdom and the Kalpana Kingdom happens, dealing with Einar and the Winter Dukedom won't be easy" She suddenly snapped her finger, just then that person in the dark robe appeared out of thin air.
"Sébastien, I want you to accompany Prince Marshall from now on until the coronation. He must become King without fail" Madame Radisson ordered as the man bowed his head, his face covered as usual, but the atmosphere around him was mysterious. "Just who was he?" Even after 10 years, I've never seen the man's face.
Madame Radisson looked over at me again, "Make sure you kill Prince Moises and his family this time"
(SAGE POV)
I stood in front of the mirror, as the maids helped me get dressed. With only an hour left until it was time to leave. I was preparing for a short lesson with Duchess Mary regarding the banquet for the delegation.
"Princess, are you nervous? Unlike last time, His Grace won't be accompanying you to the palace" Lacy said, with a concerned expression.
Knowing that Duke Winter wouldn't be there did make me a bit nervous, but for some reason I get the feeling everything will be alright. "It's fine," I said.
After I was done getting dressed, I left the room with Lacy trailing behind me. Just as I was approaching my office, I noticed Rosie, Yeshiva and Josie in the distance.
"Sage!" Rosie noticed me, waving her hand for me to hurry over.
When I approached them, I noticed a serious expression on Yeshiva's face.
"Sage, Yeshiva told me we visited a temple last night while we were unconscious, something about an ancestral hall" Rosie said, her face filled with excitement. "Did we really go through a portal?" she questioned, looking over at Yeshiva.
Yeshiva nodded, "Yeah, it was breathtaking. Raman said it was that we were in the remnants of the spiritual realm. I've never seen anything like it before. What exactly is Duke Winter's identity?" Yeshiva placed his right hand against his chin, looking to be deep in thought.
Rosie turned towards me, "Do you remember anything after harnessing your aura?" She asked.
I placed my hand on my forehead, "Actually, I don't remember anything. One moment I was sparring with Prince Antonio. The next moment, Lacy was waking me up to get ready for my departure"
Rosie and Yeshiva exchanged glances before turning back to me.
"That is strange" Rosie said, tapping her finger on the side of her face "How come I fainted after you harnessed your aura?" She questioned.
I shrugged my shoulders, not knowing what to say.
"Princess, your advisor will be accompanying you to the palace" Lacy suddenly said.
"My advisor…ahh" I mumbled, right, Butler Jackson's son will be working under me starting today.
"I should hurry for my lesson" I said and turned towards Rosie, "Will you be fine without me for a while?" I asked.
Rosie nodded, and we hugged each other. "I'll see you at the banquet," she said.
(ROSEMARY POV)
After parting ways with Sage. Yeshiva, Josie, and I continued walking through the hallway until we reached the stairs of the main area of the castle. When I noticed a group of maids and butlers, "What's going on?" I wondered as we walked down the stairs.
I noticed Lucy as she was walking in our direction, "Lucy, what's going on?" I asked, curiously.
Lucy bowed her head as she greeted me, "Princess Rosemary" she said, as she began to tell us what was going on, I noticed the sorrowful expression on her face.
"Those poor children" Josie said, she turned towards Yeshiva, "Do you think we should visit their villages?" She asked.
I watched as Yeshiva nodded in response. I balled my fist, I want to be of some kind of help for those children.
"Lucy, where's my father? I heard that he had returned to the castle"
When Lucy told us my father was in the office with Duke Winter. We made our way towards the office. Just as we approached the office on the third floor, grandfather Masiro was walking in the distance towards us. "Chief" Josie and Yeshiva called out to him as he came closer.
The next moment the door to the office opened, My father, Peyton, Lord Dean and Sir Dell walked out of the room.
"Father" I called out to him, when he saw me his face slightly lit up with a soft smile.
"Rosemary, would you like to come with us to the commoners' village near the border?" He asked.
I nodded.
"We leave in an hour," Father said.
A second later, Raman walked out of the office. He turned towards us, his expression filled with anger. "I'll be going with you all as well. I want to meet the Lord over that village"
(RAMAN'S POV)
My blood began to boil when I saw those children, they must have been on their own for a while for their bodies to be so malnourished.
"Those children mentioned that the Lord over their village started to demand higher taxes, causing the villagers to seek work in the nearby towns and cities" Einar said, repeating the words of those children.
Apparently, the village is isolated near the mountains, where the western region and Southern region border wall meets in the middle.
"Einar", I said, telepathically, as I looked at him. His expression was calm as he replied, "Raman"
"I'll be making my departure to the palace now. I have to meet with Duke Partridge before the conference begins" Crown Prince Antonio suddenly said "Raman, remain here at the castle" he added, as he and Grand Duke Benjamin left the room.
"I'll prepare to leave as well grandfather" Prince Moises said.
As the doors to the office closed, I turned towards Einar. "Those children have strong mana, but it's unstable due to their condition." I placed my hand over my forehead.
"Raman, what did you see?" Einar asked, rising out of his chair.
My head began to hurt, "There's a black hazy fog surrounding those children" I said.
Einar balled up his fist, "his face grew dark, "Even after you sacrificed yourself" he placed his palm over his face as he sighed.
I lowered my gaze to the floor, tightening up my fist. "I can't believe the curse my daughter placed on the magic users is still intact. No wonder they have been living in hiding. As soon as those demons feel their powers they will be hunted"
