Meanwhile, Kaden and Sherlyn had arrived at her father's house. Jeremy had specifically asked her to bring Kaden along for an introduction, but now that they sat in the car outside the mansion, she realized Kaden had been unusually quiet.
"Don't tell me now you're nervous?" Sherlyn asked, snapping Kaden out of his thoughts.
His dazed eyes met her furrowed expression, a flicker of distraction flashing through his mind before he shook his head.
"I'm not nervous," he said. "But… what do you think your father will say to me? Will he object? Or maybe even threaten me to leave his daughter?"
Sherlyn rolled her eyes at his dramatic questions. She hadn't realized that making him watch all those romantic dramas would melt his good brain cells like this.
Why would her father say anything like that? It's not like he doesn't already know about them.
