The need to retract his words back surged up but there was nothing he could do.
Before Brandon knew it, Kiran had already crossed the distance in between them.
He stood by the side of the counter, facing Killian as bravely as he could. Even though he was shaking in his boots.
"What?" Brandon dared ahead. "What are you looking at? Don't try to scare me in my own house."
"Your house? Killian questioned. "You bought the place?"
"No." That would be a financial drain on him. Branded knew for a fact he was not going to stay in the country after his time was up, so buying a house for just that amount of time was going to be a big loss to him, even with the money he had in his other bank accounts.
Killian gave him a little hint of a smile. "I believe this is not your place then. It could be mine if I bought it."
