Ever since Wang Xiazizi ran out from the Mountain God Temple both crying and laughing that night, Baiyue Village had been plunged into a state of panic.
Wang Xiazizi was originally just visually impaired but clear-headed, often able to help out his family and fellow villagers. But from that day on, the blind man became a madman, incessantly bothering people with nonsense, making crazy remarks like "The statue in the temple has grown eyes and come to life."
This is the 21st century, and naturally, the villagers were reluctant to believe such things, but a few of them did start to harbor suspicions, and these people were the young netizens of the village:
"Could it be an Evil Spirit?"
"In our village? Impossible, right?"
The official term for Evil Spirits was actually different, but privately, that's what everyone called them.
After all, what does "an entity from another dimension" even mean? Names like spirits or aliens are more solid.
