Sigurian looked at the youth before him; he dared not underestimate the other's youth. Miracles defy common sense, and it's not uncommon for young people to exhibit extraordinary talent.
"Of course, it can."
Hailbo smiled and said, "Attacking you out of the blue, that kind of approach is indeed offensive. But if we talk it out beforehand, agree on a venue, and set the rules of engagement, isn't that much more amicable?"
"Oh, this is called being amicable."
Sigurian said, "You call this amicable?"
"Alright, even if you are amicable," Sigurian continued, "a war always needs a cause. Why fight, and what for?"
"War is about nothing more than resources, face, honor, and revenge."
"But our Yadun holds no grudge against the South Sea Kingdom, and past issues have already been settled privately."
As for face and honor, that's a bit far-fetched.
