Like the 'Judgement Sword', also known as the Sword of Vanquishing Evil, the Golden Scales were ancient Divine Artifacts of the Titans deity, the Goddess of Law and Goddess of Justice, Themis.
In the Mortal World, they are also known as the 'Fair Balance' and 'Judgement Balance'.
Whether it is the exalted Kings or the beggars by the road, almost everyone has heard of this Divine Artifact revered by mortal judges as an object of Faith.
In legends, it is the most impartial Judge in the world, capable of adjudicating matters material, such as treasures and lands, moral, such as loyalty and good versus evil, and even conceptual matters such as rights and status. There is nothing in the world it cannot assess and weigh.
