Ye Wanwan took a deep breath and tried to show a smile as she bent down to pick Zhouzhou up, asking softly, "Zhouzhou, have you eaten?"
Zhouzhou nodded obediently, "I have."
After that, Zhouzhou reached out to hug Ye Wanwan's neck and rubbed his cheek against hers, whispering, "Mommy, don't cry."
"Mommy isn't crying," Ye Wanwan countered as they walked, "Mommy hasn't eaten yet. Let's have lunch together, and then we can take a nap together, okay?"
"Okay," Zhouzhou agreed without hesitation.
So Ye Wanwan carried Zhouzhou to the dining room to sit down. Before they ate, Ye Wanwan sent a message to Shen Yi to tell him she was already home.
Shen Yi's video call came through quickly, and after they exchanged a few words, they hung up.
Zhouzhou stayed by his mom's side the whole time. He didn't know what was wrong, but he knew his mom was unhappy, so he wanted to be with her all the time.
Ye Wanwan had little appetite, eating only a little before taking Zhouzhou upstairs to rest.
