# Chapter 9 Ageless Crystal Tome
A few days later, Oak could be seen sitting in a big and dark cave. Far from his home and with a very annoyed expression on his face.
'Those man monkeys will burn in hell after I riddled their entire species with a plague that will make them shit from there mouth.'
The seven ringed black tail moneys jumped Oak with the help of two super soldier variants and took his cave. Sadly, since there were two of them and after being severely injuried, Oak ran away but not before wiping out the 68 Unawakened monkeys the duo managed to gather together.
It was pure music seeing the super soldier monkeys' faces and hearing their screams because from what Oak gathered, they were quite close.
While he was running through the woods he found a quiet spot and wanted to test a healing potion he made before he got jumped.
After drinking and smearing the liquid on his body. He felt enough pain to make his body flinch and cringe but he stuck with in and after 15 minutes his body had quite a few scars but was healed.
'What should I do.. also what is this?' Oak pulled out a strange white rock that he found in the cave after one of his failed experiments melted through a layer of his floor.
Suddenly he noticed that white qi specks where driving off it but with his Gaze of Life he saw that they were covered with countless runes. In fact he even saw the plants around him start to twitch like it wanted the stone. Thinking he sent a wisp of Qi inside of it. The white stone trembled a little bit and was quickly covered in strange runes.
These runes too Oak seemed old, ancient, and futuristic at the same time. He obviously couldn't even figure out what they meant. Suddenly his eyes narrowed and dazed for a solid 3 seconds then the white crystal suddenly vanished.
'Ageless crystal tome? This...' Oak quickly got up and found an empty and safe cave from the map he was able to salvage. He than sat down cross-legged and started to meditate as vast amount of knowledge poured into his mind. After around 30 minutes he was able to sort the information.
It was like having a 1000 page text biology book from his college years shoved into his head. Thankful along with his naturally high comprehension ability and his immortal root he was able to sort it out without passing out.
'This Ageless Crystal Tome is like picking up a skill tome that gives you a random technique based off your Immortal root or bone structure and your desire. But this a general idea the more Crystal's you get the higher quality skill you can get.
But it only gives you the technique the advancement and the comprehension of the technique relies solely on you.
The crystal i currently have is a mortal grade. These gems are really valuable and are usually stored in the immortal root. Otherwise, you would get chased by beasts or people for the gem.
Wait, is that why I was jumped? Luckily, I stored it away in my root. The current one I have is around 5 pounds in weight strangely , it's weightless in my immortal root.
The question is, should I use it now? Hmm, I believe that my skills currently should be enough. i just need to archive more plants to get more power.
The more I think about it, i will wait a year and keep an eye out on these crystals. I also need to explore this ability to control plants with my Qi it could prove to be more useful than I thought.'
Oak also had this strange feeling that this ability to control plants would be related to his [Gaze of Life] and immortal root plant archive. So for the next month straight, he kept a low profile and sneakily started to archive plants as he really didn't want to fight more Awakened Beasts or powerful humans.
He climbed cliffs in search of strange plants. While fighting off the occasional flying beasts. Which was made easier when he skewered them with trees. He dived underwater to see if there was any type of plant. From the mountains and deep lakes, he left no stone unturned for plants. This provided many profound and vital insights to his knowledge of plants, abilities, and, perhaps the most important, his strength.
In another part of the forest, 3 awakened tigers were eyeing a man. He was tall, reaching 6 feet and 4 inches. His eyes were bright green, and his brown hair was long, and it seemed more like tree roots, which gave him the classic look of a druid in his opinion.
Suddenly the ground trembled as plants roots pierced through the ground causing the Tigers to jump and move back but one was immediately cut by something and the Tiger screamed in pain as it could feel something eating away at his flesh it turned black as the color rapidly darkened disabling the beast.
Another realizing that it needed to kill Oak to have any chance at living rushed him. But he effortlessly dodged and punched to crush the Tigers head. But its survival instincts kicked in, causing the Tiger to doge to the left, but that was its last mistake as a thick tree root burst from the ground and through the beasts heart. The last one looked at the poisoned Tiger for a split second but immediately paled as it lost sight of Oak.
The Tiger looked around but still couldn't find him, and suddenly an arm smashed through its back and to its heart ripping it out. Instantly killing the Tiger. Oak appeared behind the Tiger with a thinking look on his face as he watched as the poisoned Tiger slowly died after 5 minutes.
'The Silent death formula 136 derivative has too low of a lethality and it was too quick to cause pain it should have been unnoticeable. But it is just a mortal grade concoction it doesn't even have any evolved plants just my Qi mixed into it....'
