Chapter 15 - DOOM PLANET

On Planet Isha, Officer Hank walks past the gates of Boa's headquarters, and the guards bow in respect as he enters the grand building. Inside, he spots someone sitting confidently in the center, surrounded by several other Boa members.

"So, you must be the new Boa. I believe we've met before," Hank says, his voice steady.

The chair turns slowly, revealing Yunbam, who sits with an air of authority. "Officer Hank, has it been done?" Yunbam asks, his tone calm but expectant.

Hank pulls out a small device from his pocket, holding it up with a wry smile. "This is illegal, but for the name of honor and Boa, I'll do this... just for him. I went through a lot to get a hold of this and saved up all my vacation days just for this. So, let us watch the 110th Star Game together. You and your team will be the first slummers to witness it!"

He places the device on a nearby table, pressing a button. The screen flickers to life, revealing a digital display of the 9 billion Stars gathered in the vast stadium.

Yunbam watches the screen, then reaches into his pocket and hands Hank a bag of digicoins. "For your trouble," Yunbam says with a smile.

The Boa members around them sit back, and together, they watch the screen intently, their eyes glued to the spectacle unfolding.

Meanwhile, in the grand stadium, God's voice booms once again, drawing the attention of all the gathered Star players. "Stage 1 of the Star Games is called Doom Planet. All Star players will spawn on Doom Planet, and those who survive the four waves of doom will advance to the next stage. Once you've spawned, you'll have five minutes to prepare for the 1st wave. The next waves will come every 3rd day. How you survive will be based on points, so do your best to outlast and outperform the other Stars to secure better placements for the next stage."

God pauses, his presence commanding silence across the vast arena. "With that, may the 110th Star Games begin!"

God claps his hands, and in an instant, all 9 billion Stars are transformed into streams of energy. The energy flows through a massive magical portals that opens above the stadium.

With a snap of God's fingers, a massive screen materializes above the stadium, visible to all the spaceships surrounding the arena. God points toward it, and a leaderboard with the names of all the Stars appears, with magical words shimmering above the screen: "STAGE 1 - Doom Planet."

The screen shifts to reveal Doom Planet, its surface scattered with islands on the east, sprawling cities on the western land, and massive ice-covered terrains in both the north and south. In the center of the planet lies a vast ocean, its depths hiding an ancient mystery.

Suddenly, beneath the ocean's surface, a massive landmass rises from the depths. Ruined structures, ancient temples, and dark dungeons emerge, revealing a new land covered in the remnants of a forgotten era.

A portal opens beside Doom Planet, and from it, 9 billion beams of energy shoot toward the planet. The beams swirl around the surface and crash into the ruined land, where the Stars materialize in an explosion of light.

One by one, the Star players appear across the desolate land.

Boa materializes at the top of a stairway leading into a grand temple.

Kayle spawns atop the wreckage of a ruined ship.

Gaia lands on the sandy shores of a beach, her feet touching the earth with steady grace.

Nox appears in a barren wasteland, surrounded by crumbled ruins, with other Star players scattered across the landscape, some appearing near him, others far in the distance.

Nox looks up at the sky, his sharp gaze locking onto a glowing, magical countdown clock ticking down from five minutes. His mind works quickly, analyzing the situation around him. The landscape is filled with Stars from all corners of the universe, some still disoriented, others readying themselves for whatever the game throws at them next.

He smirks to himself, muttering under his breath, "Five minutes before the 1st wave of doom... Let me guess what it could be. Hmm, of course, it's going to be that."

Before he can finish his thought, a red-skinned Star player rushes at him, attempting a quick attack. Nox, ever the tactician, easily dodges the strike and counterattacks with precision. The blow lands hard, sending the red-skinned player crashing into the dirt and tumbling into a group of nearby Stars.

"Well, first there's the hidden doom wave, and it is us," Nox muses aloud, his eyes scanning the chaos. "Some of the Stars across the universe aren't as smart as others. Their first instinct is to attack each other."

Around him, the battlefield is alive with clashes—Star players are engaging in fierce combat, either out of fear, confusion, or simply a desire to secure an advantage. But Nox stands calm, his focus unwavering. He takes a deep breath and assumes a defensive stance, preparing for whatever comes next.

Meanwhile, Boa watches as a Star player, resembling a primitive caveman, lifts a large rock and swings it down, smashing another Star player's head. Boa observes closely, noting that the cave man's mortal levels are dangerously low, his movements wild and reckless—more akin to an animal than a fighter.

The caveman, undeterred, charges at Boa with the rock raised high. Boa, with practiced precision, easily sidesteps the attack. He counters quickly, delivering a powerful kick that sends the caveman tumbling down the long stairway. The caveman crashes down, knocking into several other Star players on his way, each one staggering as he falls to his death.

Boa watches the chaos unfold, shaking his head in quiet disbelief. "Some life in the universe couldn't even comprehend the meaning of honor because of their lack of mortal evolution."

Meanwhile, Kayle fights her way through the ruined ship, effortlessly pushing several Star players over the edge. They plummet to their deaths below, their screams cutting short upon impact. Without hesitation, she spots a few of her teammates amidst the chaos and quickly regroups with them. "Stick close and fight together," she commands, her voice firm. They nod, forming a tight formation as they move through the wreckage.

On the beach, Gaia maneuvers skillfully, avoiding the countless battles erupting around her. Suddenly, a caveman-like Star player lunges at her with wild aggression. Before she can react, one of her loyal pawns rushes to her defense, intercepting the attack. Gaia watches as the caveman brutally pummels her pawn to death, the sickening sound of bones breaking filling the air.

Gaia's expression darkens. Without hesitation, she delivers a devastating kick to the caveman's face, the sheer force of it causing one of his eyeballs to burst violently from its socket. The caveman stumbles, howling in agony, but Gaia doesn't stop. With one final, precise strike to his throat, she snaps his neck. He collapses at her feet, choking on his own blood. Gaia doesn't even flinch as she coldly watches him die.

Her gaze shifts upward toward the magical countdown in the sky—only thirty seconds remain. Immediately, she activates Ultra Thinking, her mind accelerating as she rapidly analyzes to what the 1st wave could be. "The first wave is going to be planetary defense," she mutters, her voice filled with certainty.

As soon as the words leave her lips, the countdown reaches zero, the sky above darkens. Thousands of missiles descend like a torrential storm, their glowing trails cutting through the air. Gaia's eyes widen as the first explosions rock the ruined lands. Without wasting another second, she dashes forward, narrowly evading the fiery devastation raining down around her. The beach erupts into chaos, screams and explosions blending into a symphony of destruction. The first wave of doom has begun.

Kayle and her teammates emerge from the wreckage of the ruined ship, only to be met with a horrifying sight—thousands of Doom Natives swarming the land, brutally attacking Star players with spears, axes, blades, and arrows.

One of her teammates lets out a sharp cry as a spear impales him through the chest. His body trembles before collapsing to the ground.

"Fight! Don't let them overwhelm you!" Kayle commands, her voice cutting through the chaos.

A Doom Native lunges at her with a spear, but she swiftly sidesteps, grabbing hold of the weapon and yanking it from his grasp. Without hesitation, she spins it around and drives it through his heart, killing him instantly. More Doom Natives charge toward her, their war cries echoing through the battlefield.

Kayle's sharp eyes scan the area, many Star players are being slaughtered left and right, their bodies falling like broken dolls. The sheer number of natives is overwhelming, and she quickly realizes that fighting here would be suicide.

"Fall back! We need to retreat!" she orders.

Without hesitation, she and her remaining teammates begin their escape, dodging attacks as they weave through the battlefield, searching for a way to survive the relentless onslaught of Doom Natives.

Meanwhile, Boa steps into the temple, his eyes scanning the scene before him. A dozen Star players are locked in a brutal struggle, each fighting desperately to seize a key—one that unlocks a room overflowing with treasure and weapons. Among them, Boa spots a Star player clutching the key, only to be overwhelmed as the others pounce, stomping him into the ground.

Ignoring the chaos, Boa strides toward the caged door. He then mutters, "Who needs a key when you can make your own way in?" With a powerful kick, he smashes the cage door open, the force echoing through the temple. Stepping inside, his gaze lands on a scimitar protruding from a shimmering pile of gold. He grabs it without hesitation, the weight of the weapon feeling just right in his grip.

Turning back, he notices a Star player lingering at the entrance, hesitating. Boa meets his gaze and casually gestures him inside. Without a second thought, the Star player rushes in, eagerly scavenging for weapons. Boa steps out of the room, and almost instantly, the other Star players take notice. Realizing the door is open, they abandon their brawl and flood into the treasure chamber like a starving pack of animals.

Boa watches them with a shake of his head, his expression darkening as they turn on each other, slaughtering each other. He mutters under his breath, "Survival is our first instinct... but if only they could see reason, they might have lived longer with honorable lives."

Before he can dwell further, the weight of the greed-driven horde proves too much. The caged room groans under the pressure before collapsing in on itself, crushing every Star player inside. Boa doesn't flinch. Instead, he walks outside, only to be met with a new sight—masses of Doom natives tearing through the many Star players, cutting them down with ruthless efficiency.

Narrowing his eyes, Boa grips his scimitar tighter. "Those aren't Stars… they must be the true inhabitants of Doom Planet."

The natives turn their attention to him, weapons raised, eyes filled with hostility. Boa exhales, steadying his stance as they close in. "Well then... let's see what you've got."

Meanwhile, Nox strikes a Star player in the temple with his thumb, killing him instantly. The lifeless body collapses, and the ground beneath begins to glow. Nox raises an eyebrow and smirks. "Oh, looks like I might've stumbled onto something important."

Kneeling down, he brushes away the dirt, revealing more glowing lines etched into the ground. As the dust clears, a large, glowing carved circle comes into view. His sharp eyes dart around, spotting another faint glow nearby. He strides over, rolling a corpse aside before sweeping away the dirt to expose another radiant circle.

"Ahhh... it reacts to blood. This must be some kind of summoning ritual," he muses.

Without hesitation, Nox grips the dead body and drags it across the ground, leaving a thick trail of blood in its wake. The crimson liquid seeps into the soil, activating more hidden circles scattered throughout the land. One by one, the total reaches eight, each glowing brighter until they are all connected by intricate, luminous lines. As the energy pulses, more glowing pathways form in the center, converging into a dazzling pattern.

Nox steps toward the center of the formation, tilting his head. "Something is supposed to happen, right?"

A sudden shift catches his attention. Beneath him, the ground softens, turning wet and unstable. The earth transforms into quicksand, pulling anything on it downward.

Nox watches calmly. "Well, it's either a trap or a doorway. Whatever it is... let's see it."

Without hesitation, he lets himself sink, disappearing beneath the surface. A strange sensation washes over him as he is magically transported to another location. Wiping sand from his eyes, he looks around, now standing within a massive ritual chamber. Surrounding him, Doom summoners chant in a foreign tongue, their hands raised over the glowing summoning circle beneath his feet.

A slow grin forms on Nox's face. "So I was right… some kind of summoning. Lucky me."

The Doom summoners then speaks to him. At first, Nox cannot understand their language, but as he listens closely, his mind shifts into overdrive. Activating his ultra thinking, he processes hundreds of hours of study in mere seconds, dissecting their speech, recognizing patterns, and deciphering their words.

Finally, he understands.

One of the summoners steps forward, eyes wide with awe. "God has shown us the sign of our doom… but in doing so, He has also activated our ancient ritual summoning circle of the chosen one! The one who will save us all from this doomed planet!"

Nox smirks, then speaks in their language with flawless precision. "I am your chosen King. Now, show me your knowledge… and I will do whatever is in my power to save you all."

Meanwhile, Gaia dashes across the beach, sand kicking up beneath her feet as explosions erupt all around. The deafening blasts shake the ground, but her focus sharpens when she spots Gilga standing firm on the shoreline, unfazed by the chaos. Despite the missiles raining down near him, he remains still, his gaze locked on something in the distance.

Curious, Gaia follows his line of sight. Far out at sea, a massive battleship looms, launching a relentless barrage of missiles toward the shore.

Suddenly, Gilga's voice booms over the destruction. "This is what I've dreamed of! My first steps for ascension to Godhood!"

Without hesitation, he dashes into the water, diving in and swimming toward the warship with fierce determination.

Without another thought, she also plunges into the waves, swimming after him, the echoes of battle roaring behind them.

Meanwhile, Kayle dashes through the ruins, weaving between the hail of arrows whizzing past her. Her breath is sharp, her movements precise—until her foot lands on a fragile crack in the stone ground. The moment she steps forward, the stone gives way beneath her.

"Tch—!"

She plummets into the darkness, disappearing into the depths below. The pursuing natives halt briefly at the edge of the hole, peering down before dismissing her fate. Without hesitation, they continue their bloody crusade, hunting down more Star players.

Elsewhere, Boa stands amidst a battlefield littered with bodies. Over thirty natives lie slain at his feet, but victory has not come without cost. Blood seeps from several fresh cuts along his body, and an arrow juts from his shoulder. His grip tightens around his scimitar as he exhales, steadying himself.

Then, the ground rumbles.

A native warrior emerges from the chaos, mounted atop a massive saber-toothed tiger. The beast snarls, its fangs glistening under the dim light, while its rider stares at Boa with a piercing intensity.

Without a word, the warrior raises his arm and lets out a powerful cry in his native tongue. At his command, a group of native witches step forward, gripping their staffs as they begin chanting, their voices weaving a dark, rhythmic spell.

Boa watches with a sharp grin. "So, you must be the leader of these natives. It is an honor to face a warrior of your caliber this early."

He shifts into a stance, his scimitar gleaming in the fading sunlight.

The leader smirks, his expression brimming with excitement as he jumps off from his saber-tooth tiger. He draws two tomahawks, their edges carved with intricate markings, and speaks in his native language, his tone carrying both amusement and respect.

Then, with a sudden burst of energy, they charge.

Their weapons clash with raw intensity, sending sparks flying through the air as steel meets steel.
