Chapter 676 - Chapter 676: Late-night meeting with Dumbledore

"I've never heard of such a thing, Mr Collins."

Professor McGonagall looked at Andy and said, "I'm glad that your transfiguration skills have improved, but we should hurry because your class is about to start."

Well.

"Okay!" Andy shrugged helplessly.

In fact, Andy didn't find any relevant records in the restricted book section either. The reason for asking this question was just to hear Professor McGonagall's opinion.

After all, she is an expert in Transfiguration.

Andy was not surprised by the answer.

From this point of view, Transfiguration is indeed inferior to Alchemy in some aspects.

When they arrived at the office, while sorting out the lesson plans needed for class, Professor McGonagall went straight to the point and said, "Mr Collins, you should have heard about what happened yesterday."

"I am truly regretful."

Andy asked, "Is there anything I can do to help?"

"Yes..."

After a moment of hesitation, Professor McGonagall frowned and said, "I contacted Dumbledore. There's an issue on his end. So he won't be back until tomorrow."

"He asked me to tell you to meet someone for him."

At this, Professor McGonagall took out a note and handed it to Andy. "This is the time and place for the meeting... I was planning to go personally, but Dumbledore specifically asked for you to go. I think...he must have his reasons."

Andy took the note, opened it, and quickly glanced at it.

The meeting will be at 10 o'clock tonight.

The place is on the first floor of the Hog's Head Inn in Hogsmeade.

Who would he be meeting?

Andy frowned slightly... Could it be Snape?

"I understand!"

Andy nodded, "I'll be there on time."

After a pause, Andy asked, "Professor McGonagall, Hogwarts is protected by a magic barrier. How am I supposed to go out? I know the locations of a few secret passages, but they've been blocked off now."

Professor McGonagall glanced at Andy and Hermione and said, "Dumbledore told me that there is a secret passage in the castle that leads directly to the Hog's Head Inn, which is located in the Room of Requirement."

"This secret passage has a special characteristic: it can only be opened from the Room of Requirement."

I see!

No wonder Professor McGonagall called Hermione over because this secret passage must require the cooperation of two people to enter and exit.

"I understand!" Andy replied.

"Well, you should go to class now."

Professor McGonagall tidied up the papers on her desk and smiled faintly, "I'll see you both in class."

Er...is the first class Transfiguration?

***

The day's classes ended quickly.

At 9:30 p.m., Andy and Hermione arrived in the corridor outside the Room of Requirement.

[I need a secret passage to the Hog's Head Inn]

Andy walked back and forth along the corridor three times, and the door to the Room of Requirement slowly appeared.

"Andy, let's go!" Hermione urged.

"I am wondering..."

Andy did not rush in but asked another question, "If the Room of Requirement can really answer any request, then theoretically, it can lead to anywhere in the world."

Hermione's head began to spin at this.

Here we go again!

Andy will always have all sorts of strange questions whenever something like this comes up.

He's such a curious boy!

"Don't forget, we gave our word to Professors McGonagall and Dumbledore... Andy, we need to hurry," Hermione said anxiously.

"The meeting is at ten o'clock, and it's only half past nine. I deliberately left early to try the Room's abilities," Andy said calmly.

Hermione: "…"

"You can try again tomorrow!"

Hermione gritted her teeth, grabbed Andy's shirt, and dragged him into the Room of Requirement.

"Hermione, aren't you curious?" Andy asked.

Hermione glared at Andy and said with a headache, "At least, tonight, you need to be less curious!"

Andy: "…"

OK!

"I'll go over then."

Andy reminded her, "Don't forget to open the door for me."

Hermione gave Andy a reproachful look and said, "I won't forget."

The secret passage was a little damp and rickety, and it looked like it had been there for years.

Andy walked for about twenty minutes in the secret passage and finally reached the end.

The exit looked like the back of a portrait.

Click!

Pushing open the portrait, there was a bedroom outside.

Andy glanced around, then paused slightly, "Professor Dumbledore? Are you not…?"

Andy had only half finished his sentence when he came to the realisation.

Dumbledore could return whenever he wanted with the help of his phoenix.

The question was, why was he hiding his whereabouts?

"Good night, Mr Collins," Dumbledore nodded as a greeting.

"Er, good night!"

Andy walked into the room, and after checking that there was no Anti-Apparition charm in place, he closed the secret door with a sense of relief.

"Professor, can I help you?" Andy asked, getting straight to the point.

"Have a seat," said Dumbledore.

Once Andy was seated, Dumbledore looked at him intently. "Grindelwald escaped from prison... Do you know anything about it, Collins?"

"I guessed as much," said Andy.

After learning from Andy about the fusion of mind and magic, Grindelwald would definitely give it a try.

Whether as a wizard or for his unfinished cause, Grindelwald would not give up this opportunity.

Dumbledore was silent for a moment after hearing this.

There was no doubt that Grindelwald's escape was inextricably linked to Andy.

Grindelwald had been contacted by Andy for the sole purpose of seeking advice on magic. However, Andy's success in the field of magic opened up a new path for Grindelwald.

A higher path for magic.

A greater path for his own interests.

For this reason, Grindelwald had chosen to break his vow and return to the public eye.

However, at this moment, looking at the 'culprit' who played a part in Grindelwald's escape, Dumbledore did not know what to say.

Andy, a Hogwarts student, seeks advice on magic from Grindelwald. This is undoubtedly a failure of Hogwarts' education.

Or, to be more precise, a failure on the part of the Headmaster, Dumbledore.

Andy has an insatiable thirst for knowledge.

His talent for magic outshines the rest.

He is extremely passionate about magic.

Under these circumstances, when Hogwarts professors can no longer teach Andy what he wants, he naturally will seek out a more knowledgeable teacher.

Dumbledore had to admit that whenever Andy asked about magic, he always left some wiggle room.

Because, in Dumbledore's opinion, an uncontrollable thirst for knowledge was extremely dangerous.

When a strong thirst for knowledge is combined with an excellent ability to act and achieve goals, the energy it can unleash is unimaginable.

If you put your ideas into practice, you will succeed.

Is there anything more terrifying than that?
