Alex shrugged, a grin tugging at the corner of his mouth. "They're not exactly smart."
Barty chuckled, hearing Alex's comment. "True. With my power, I duplicated one of the golems, and that made them so confused they started attacking each other. That was all it took."
"W-Well... I mean, you both are incredibly strong, no wonder..." the shopkeeper stammered, still in awe.
Just then, Lina walked over, holding a piece of paper and a pen. "Could I get both of your signatures, please?" she asked eagerly, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
The shopkeeper—Lina's father—looked at her sternly. "Did you finish serving the customers?"
"Yes, Father! Already!" Lina replied enthusiastically.
Alex took the paper and signed it with a flourish. "How old are you, Lina?"
"Uh? 19..." she replied, a bit taken aback by the question.
Alex smiled warmly as he handed the paper back to Lina. "You're still young, plenty of time ahead of you to do whatever you set your mind to."
