quickly replaced by a wry smile.
"I see..." Alex mumbled, still processing everything.
Suddenly, Adika's eyes narrowed. "Let me guess, you came here because of Kiara, aren't you?"
The unexpected mention of Kiara sent a jolt through Alex. Shock washed over him, momentarily eclipsing the mystery of the interfaces. Did Adika have the same connection to the game as him? How much did he know?
"Yeah, how do you know?" Alex blurted out, his voice barely a whisper. He desperately wanted answers, but a sliver of caution remained. Revealing too much could be dangerous.
A flicker of understanding dawned on Alex's face.
"Well, it seems we are the same, Alex," Adika said, his voice low and thoughtful. "I was just a worker who loved playing games, and this game – the one that brought us here – well, it seems it brought us both."
Alex's mind raced. This explained the shared human origin, the interfaces, and the connection to a game world. But something wasn't right.
