When he returned to the old Gong Family mansion, the house usually only had Gong Heng and Mu Mian, plus a domestic helper, as Gong Mian was rarely home due to his busy work schedule and the distance to the government hall.
He had been away on a business trip recently, too.
The housekeeper hurried over when she saw Gong Heng carrying Mu Mian home, "What's happened to Miss?"
Gong Heng offered a helpless smile, "She's had a bit of red wine and feels dizzy. Can you make her some ginger soup and bring it up later? We've eaten out for dinner tonight, so just leave the ginger soup on the table when it's ready and don't worry about us."
"Okay."
The housekeeper didn't find anything amiss; with Gong Mian not around, Mu Mian was mostly looked after by Gong Heng. She assumed Mu Mian and Gong Heng were blood siblings, and the different surnames were just some eccentricity typical of wealthy families.
