Chapter 127 - Chapter 127: Leaving Aurorise

Maurus looked at the two with blank eyes before as if a button had been pulled, jolted back to life.

He was dazed with where he was but soon enough, he realized where he was and what situation he was in. "Please take a seat." Orsen said as he looked back to him.

Numerous emotions ran through his mind, shock, fear, disbelief and a tinge of helplessness. He had last recalled that he was confronting Orsen before strangely enough, his vision went blank.

At first he had thought that he had died from the exchange but to his surprise, he could barely hear the world around him, he just couldn't move or interact with it.

He had been suspended in an eternal void of darkness to the point he had lost track of and suddenly opening his eyes as if for the first time, he was here.

He felt his body move but there was no control over it. With Orsen in his sight, he knew that despite being a tier five he had to obey his order and forcefully took a seat opposite to the two.

With the two immobile due to the fear they harbored for him, Orsen pointed his index at Maurus as a cold smile flashed on his face.

Mimicking a gun, he made a "bang" motion and to Victoria's realization, a cold liquid covered her face as bits and pieces spread out and a fracture of Maurus's skull managed to skewer her right eye off.

"Argghh!!!!"

She clutched onto it before realizing what had transpired. Maurus was dead with a flick of Orsen's wrist. A tier five dead just like that, it was jarring to realize this.

As she tried to calm herself as blood trickled off her eye and tried to heal but to her surprise, it didn't work this time. The blood continued oozing without restraint thus she was forced to hold over it to prevent it from her bleeding out to death.

Orsen made his way behind the chair she was in and twirled it, forcing her to look at the remains of Maurus. His head was nowhere to be found on his body.

His neck shot a spring of blood that started to form a puddle on the floor dying his clothes completely red. Realizing what situation she was in, she dreaded what Orsen had in store for her.

"What is it that I have to offer?" She asked with a tint of fear laced in her words. "Your undying loyalty as a slave or your death. Your choice." He said as he held onto the ridges of the chair.

Stumped at this corner of a situation, she would rather die than be his slave. All she had to do was drag this conversation till help arrived. "What will happen if I choose to be your slave?" She asked though no answer came to her.

An arm was brought in front of her, bare indicating that he wanted her to take a bite. It wasn't the pain that she was worried about but the bleeding which if went unchecked would prove lethal to her.

She took a soft bite of his wrist and fresh blood flowed on her mouth, it was reinvigorating and fresh. It paled in comparison to the blood that she had ever had.

She felt the wound already starting to heal but she didn't stop and kept on going till she was satiated. Vampires could inject a drug into a human that would make them servile to them, becoming nothing more than soldiers awaiting orders.

From then on, they could issue commands but seeing that she felt no form of connection with Orsen, she knew that she had failed. 'How did it not work?!'

The drug could also work on other creatures as well and among them included demons but worked best with humans.

"It seems that you have made your decision." As he wrapped his arm back, he made his way out of the office but paused at the door.

He formed a small black flame which he let fall to the ground. The flames quickly engulfed the place. Victoria saw Orsen still there, his figure was slowly consumed by the flames but he seemed unaffected by it.

'Does he plan on suicide?' She thought as the flames wrapped around her, threatening to turn her body to ashes. Orsen's body became thoroughly flamed, with his fair skin burnt in the process.

Despite this, he didn't seem affected or bothered by it and left the residence.

"Bleh!"

She suddenly vomited a mouthful of blood and realized the trap that she was in. The blood that she had recently drank had contaminated itself with her own and formed a venomous acid that was coursing through her body.

As a tier four, she tried to forcefully lower the speed of blood circulation in her body to reduce the acid from melting her body alive but stopping the venom in itself was detrimental as it could accumulate at a specific point and melt that part as a whole.

The worst part of it was that it didn't need to spread as contact with her own blood would spread the toxins making her idea pointless.

As she felt her right eye slowly melt as it was where the blood had been concentrated, she tried to walk out of the office but her legs seemed stubborn on moving making her fall to the ground.

A part of her cranium had started to melt off with the acid mixed with blood still destroying her body.

She fell to the floor as the toxins relied on the electric impulses of the mind to determine whether the target was dead as using her cells was pointless, her body was dead.

It didn't take long before her body melted with bits and pieces of flesh still apparent. Once the target was dead, the toxins would revert to the blood of the target.

Orsen observed as the members of the Church swarm the manor as they tried to locate him. He knew that he couldn't stay here any longer thus he made his way back to Lirien who had been waiting at a luxurious hotel.

Infiltrating it wasn't a problem as he made his presence known to her. "She's dead." He said flatly. "The kingdom seems hell-bent on killing you. I doubt that you will be able to stay here any longer. I've arranged a caravan if traders for you to disguise yourself in to leave."

She knew that he wouldn't have that much of a problem sneaking out but he would have nothing but if he stayed at a caravan, then he would be able to have access to resources not to mention easily make his way to other kingdoms.

She had a method of dealing with his appearance but looking at his now revolting figure, she hesitated. His entire body was cooked with bits and pieces of flesh sticking out. He looked like an undercooked turkey with his figure wrapped in bandages.

He looked nothing like his former self which was great as he didn't have to deal with appearance. 'He didn't have to be so extreme.' She thought as he made his exit to which Hilda was waiting.

The two had discussed earlier about his store, no doubt now it would attract attention now. And after some investigation, it was clear that it would be confiscated under the name of investigation thus he had Hilda thrash the store.

He gave some vials to Lirien as a token of appreciation, a legendary healing potion, and a breakthrough potion to tier five and several others. A fruitful exchange for both.

Hilda was taken aback by his new looks wondering why he would do such an act to himself.

"I'm sure procuring a disguising spell would have been better." She said as the two saw a chain of carriages. Their ticket out. The two had already changed into regular clothing.

"This body means nothing to me." He said as he handed her a ring. The concept of marriage was present in this world thus she was stunned by seeing this.

"It should help with your looks." He said as she put it directly into her finger. Reevaluating herself, she felt no different compared to earlier but looking in a mirror, she saw it.

Her purple hair had been replaced with fair black hair, her eyes now slightly pale with a hint of black indicating that she had some eyesight problems and her tier had been reduced to tier two on the second array.

As for their identities, they were servants for the Scarlet borne family that were sent to protect some goods on the caravan. The total worth of it was 500 silver quartz which wasn't that much compared to some of those present.

Their time of departure wouldn't be that long but they still had to put in some work. As they boarded some luggage for the caravan leader, a tier three on the third array. He was one of the few people who were on the third tier.

After a day had been spent, the group finally set off and as they were about to make their leave outside of the Kingdom, they ran into a small problem.

"Everybody get off! An inspection will be conducted!!"

A loud voice boomed which brought the caravan to a stop. Hilda seemed apprehensive however Orsen seemed calm.

'Just look calm and they won't find anything.' He told her. Before realizing that he had just spoken to her in her mind, she had to get off and along with others, they waited for the search to commence.

There were numerous entrances and exits present in the kingdom and this one was the one preferred for trade. And for that, it was much more secure in comparison to others. They hadn't expected the culprit to take this way but that didn't mean that they would outright ignore this.

The place was swarmed with Kingdom Guards, barely were there any tier one, numerous tier twos and few tier three and a single tier four.

Hilda was overwhelmed by this sight but tried to keep a calm and aloof expression. A tier two guard came up to her and demanded for her to make a drop of blood onto a small glass panel.

She did so without hesitation and in a matter of seconds, the glass panel was put in a small box and numerous strands of light could be seen emanated from the box before stopping.

The guard then dismissed her and went next to Orsen. He did it similar to Hilda and the rest and just like the others, it showed a similar result. He made his way back to the coach he was assigned to along with Hilda as he observed the procedure.

'A small sample of blood put in that box, it seemed to determine the race of a person. They think since the culprit is a demon, thus would do the trick.'

He thought as he realized this. The blood vial would be subjected to strands of light and its integrity determined. The light is that of a tier five expert thus it does prove troublesome to get around.

'The problem about this is that this is a human body thus it would glow golden confirming that it is a human. If a different race then it would be different.'

One of the members of the caravan was a vampire and his result unlike the regular golden glow resulted in a red color. 'If it was a demon then the color would have been black.'

He concluded as he waited for the procedure to come to an end.

"Hey you!" A voice rang as he realized that it was addressed to him. It was a tier three guard to who made his way over to him.

"How did you get those injuries? After all there was a fire earlier today and we suspect that the culprit could have been flamed!" His voice echoed.
