The little guy pouted at his mom's attempt to change the subject and said, "Am I really that dumb?"
Jiang Mei, dumber than her son, didn't catch the sarcasm in her five-year-old's words and blankly said, "Mommy didn't say you were dumb."
"Dumb—mommy." After the little fellow spit out these three words, he stuck out his tongue at her, "I heard everything, you were talking to grandma. When grandma speaks, it's rarely good news."
The news leaked so quickly, Jiang Mei immediately covered her young son's big mouth with her hand and pulled him aside to educate him, whispering, "Dongzi, you must not tell anyone about this, do you understand?"
The little guy sincerely nodded his little head, "Mommy, I won't tell anyone."
Jiang Mei patted her chest, knowing her son was well-taught by both her and her husband, at least he could keep his word.
