Chapter 571: Rushing to Aid the Tai Xu Ancient Dragon
Xiao Ze arrived at the Black Tower, having planned the operation to dismantle the Soul Hall branches himself. Most of the others were already in the Black Tower and quickly gathered in the conference room upon receiving Xiao Ze's message.
"Everyone, a friend of mine is in trouble, so I may need to leave for a while," Xiao Ze said with a hint of apology on his face. Having just returned from the Barbarian Wilderness, it was inconvenient for him to leave again so soon. Despite being instrumental in forming the Alchemy Alliance, he had hardly stayed long enough to handle its affairs, only managing to plan today's operation against the Soul Hall branches.
"Is the situation very urgent? Does the Alchemy Alliance need to intervene?" Elder Yao, the head of the conference, asked after hearing Xiao Ze's words.
"It should be manageable; I can handle it. Right now, it's crucial to engage the Soul Alliance, and while I can depart alone, it's not ideal to mobilize too much of the Alchemy Alliance's power."
"Haha, don't worry, Xiao Ze. Even if the Soul Alliance launches a major attack, we old folks aren't just for show," said Elder Huo Yun nonchalantly.
Indeed, the Alchemy Alliance's strength was considerable. In terms of the number of Dou Saints on the surface, the Alchemy Alliance might have more. However, without a peak powerhouse to counter the Soul Hall's leader, if the Soul Hall launched a full-scale attack, resistance might be futile unless the wandering Elder of the Pill Tower returned.
"If the leader of the Soul Hall does not step in, then the Alchemy Alliance's strength should be sufficient to handle the Soul Alliance," Xiao Ze added.
"Then I'll leave the matters here to you all," Xiao Ze continued, handing over a Bodhi seed to Elder Yao. "If I can't return in time, I'll need you to refine the Bodhi pills as rewards for this operation."
Elder Yao accepted the luminous, life-filled Bodhi seed with a chuckle, "Rest assured, I'm still the leader of the Alchemy Alliance. I won't mess up such an important task." This was the first time the Alchemy Alliance had proactively targeted the branches of the Soul Hall, so strong incentives were indeed necessary. Elder Yao had already had experience crafting a Bodhi pill before.
Before leaving for the Barbarian Wilderness, each force in the alliance had received a Bodhi seed under Xiao Ze's distribution. Xiao Yan also used a Bodhi seed to refine a pill and began his retreat to attempt reaching the Dou Saint level.
After bidding farewell to everyone present, Xiao Ze quickly left the Black Tower and returned to the Elder Tower to notify Qing Lin and Xiao Yi Xian.
"Dragon Island is in danger. You two will come with me this time. The three Dragon Kings are formidable, and I alone might not be able to protect Dragon Island entirely. I need your help," Xiao Ze explained.
Qing Lin and Xiao Yi Xian exchanged surprised looks but quickly agreed. They had visited Dragon Island several times before and got along well with the people there. Naturally, they did not want to see them harmed, especially since they had the power to help.
"Then let's hurry. Zi Yan is still in seclusion; nothing must happen to her," Xiao Ze said, nodding. He then took out a root of the Source Tree, which swiftly grew into a golden tree. The tree's branches shimmered with spatial energy, slowly forming a spatial passageway.
Holding the hands of Qing Lin and Xiao Yi Xian, Xiao Ze stepped into the passageway, heading straight for Dragon Island.
...
On Dragon Island, Elder Zhu Li paced anxiously. The grand elders had already clashed with the three Dragon Kings, gaining nothing but injury. Zhu Li intervened, suggesting a willingness to consider surrender to buy time and save the elders.
"Thank goodness for the power source Xiao Ze left behind, which can freely communicate despite the spatial cage. Otherwise, Dragon Island would be in dire straits," Zhu Li mused after communicating with Xiao Ze, now just waiting for his aid.
Outside Dragon Island, the three Dragon Kings gathered, eyeing the island trapped like a caged beast. "Why give them time to struggle? Erasing the Dragon Island lineage once and for all would settle everything," one of them said.
"No, the elders of Dragon Island are stubborn; our persuasion won't sway them," another argued. "And if we attack by force, their self-destruction could inflict heavy losses on our islands. Perhaps Zhu Li can convince them."
"Moreover, now that they're trapped in a spatial cage, they can't turn the tide; any spatial fluctuation will be blocked inside."
North Dragon King sneered, looking down at Dragon Island. "Perhaps they're pinning their hopes on that young girl, but it's impossible for her to attain the power of a Dou Saint in such a short time."
"Let's not give Zhu Li too much time. A little pressure will make the people of Dragon Island realize that surrender is their only option," he said, reaching out toward the island.
As his claw moved, a massive claw mark appeared, striking the island's barrier with a crash.
Seeing this, Zhu Li rushed forward, outraged. "North Dragon King, how dare you break your promise?"
"Ha, I'm merely reminding you that time is almost up. If you don't give me a satisfactory answer soon, the next attack will fall directly on Dragon Island," the North Dragon King replied casually, the coldness in his eyes belying his relaxed demeanor.
Zhu Li clenched his fists, but seeing the two other Dragon Kings behind the North Dragon King, he suppressed his anger. The three Dragon Kings had effortlessly wounded the grand elders, and their forces were formidable.
Each of the three Dragon Islands had a two-star Dou Saint elder, totaling six true Dou Saints. Below them were numerous half-Saints and Dou Zuns, making their combined strength overwhelming for Dragon Island.
As Zhu Li glared, the North Dragon King scoffed and launched another attack. Zhu Li prepared to take the hit, knowing if he dodged, the people below on Dragon Island would suffer.
Just then, a dazzling golden light converged, and a remarkable golden tree appeared, drawing everyone's gaze. A hand reached out from the spatial passage within the tree's branches and effortlessly crushed the North Dragon King's attack.
"Almost too late, but I hope Elder Zhu Li won't blame me," a familiar voice said, bringing immense relief to Zhu Li.
"Lord Xiao Ze!" (End of Chapter)
