Chapter 10 - Rebuild

Unfortunately, the spacetime energy could only stop and accelerate time, not reverse it. Otherwise, Mei wouldn't have needed to go to such lengths. Even so, this was quite satisfactory; Mei enjoyed strategy simulation games.

Outside the accelerated spacetime, Mei observed Earth's accelerated development, finding it amusing, like playing a game.

She remembered.

Whenever playing strategy simulation games, Mei always wanted to manipulate the game's narrative and the fate of every character, to see what effects her actions and choices would create.

However, limited by game length and technology, her wish remained unfulfilled. No game could possess such vast content and complex calculations.

Now, that wish was fulfilled.

Under the control of the spacetime energy, she could choose to intervene at any time during Earth's reconstruction, playing any role and leaving her mark on history.

The time acceleration was adjustable; Mei didn't pay attention to the exact multiplier, only aiming for a reasonable rate.

Initially, Earth was a wasteland; the alien war had destroyed all modern cities, leaving behind only desolation.

As time rapidly sped up, more survivors emerged from the ruins. Without the alien threat, they began to rebuild.

Humanity gradually congregated into various settlements. While human civilization had been devastated, the remaining technology meant they didn't have to start from scratch.

...

Thirty years later.

A completely new, massive, modern metropolis suddenly rose from the ground, housing hundreds of thousands of people. Earth civilization entered a new era.

Earth's inhabitants named this city "New City."

New City symbolized Earth's complete transition to rapid reconstruction. A continuous influx of survivors fueled its rapid expansion.

The education system was restored, nurturing generation after generation of talented individuals who traveled the world, excavating ruins and recovering pre-existing technology.

Twenty years into the new era.

New City's population had grown to three million. The ever-expanding construction zone transformed New City into a sprawling metropolis, where the legacy of past technologies and the development of new ones intertwined.

Mei had once discovered a survivor's base beneath the ruins and befriended an old professor researching genetic modification techniques.

Professor Sun had passed away twenty years into the new era, but his research and technology had been inherited by New City.

The power of the aliens had cast a long shadow over Earth's inhabitants, leading New City to focus on research and related technologies.

The aliens' disappearance remained a mystery, but to prevent humanity from repeating past mistakes, they needed the power to resist.

However, the strength of a few million people was insufficient to develop powerful cosmic technology. Professor Sun's legacy, though, offered hope for enhancing individual human strength.

Fifty years into the new era.

After decades of relentless research, New City's biological modification technology finally achieved a breakthrough. By this time, New City had completely formed into a sprawling metropolis with a permanent population of 20 million.

"We did it!"

"We finally succeeded!"

In the laboratory, the researchers wept with joy.

Through years of research, New City's researchers discovered that many alien genes possessed an innate sensitivity to energy, with extremely high interaction and control capabilities.

This was beyond human capacity.

To achieve this in humans, genetic modification was necessary. Without the ability to control energy, even carbon-based lifeforms at their physical peak would remain extremely frail.

Soon,

New City conducted its first experiment. Fifty young people were selected for the first round of genetic modification.

The results were overwhelmingly successful. These fifty individuals were dubbed "New Humans," marking Earth civilization's entry into a new phase.

Mei felt compelled to participate. This was a pivotal moment, worthy of witnessing.

Suddenly,

She entered Earth's accelerated spacetime.

...

New City.

"Kamui! Kamui!"

In the square, a group of young people excitedly chanted the name of their idol; the cries of "Kamui" were deafening.

A passerby remarked in surprise, "Another rally?"

"It seems these New Humans are making a name for themselves as idols. These fans are incredibly fervent; I heard some even formed a cult, viewing Kamui as a chosen one…"

The New Humans had a huge impact on this era. Many in New City were fervent fans, worshipping power, and the New Humans were its embodiment.

The first generation of New Humans comprised fifty individuals. Due to genetic variations, they possessed different abilities.

The strongest was known as "Kamui," whose power far surpassed the other forty-nine.

The emergence of the New Humans undeniably represented a successful genetic modification; however, it was also an imperfect and flawed outcome.

Their enhanced power led to inflated egos, twisted personalities, and abnormal hormone levels, making them prone to emotional outbursts and uncontrolled rampages.

Unfortunately,

The strongest, Kamui, was the most extreme example. He was extremely aggressive, unpredictable in his actions, and domineering and reckless.

Meanwhile, in a high-rise building in New City.

Boom!

An explosion accompanied by an intense flash of fire erupted from the building. The blast shattered nearby windows, and the glass in the epicenter melted into liquid.

Inside the building, a charred body lay on the floor, lifeless. Kamui's voice was icy, "I said I don't take orders. If it happens again, I'll burn you all to ashes."

Glancing at the elderly figures on the screen, Kamui coldly snorted, jumped out the window, a flash of fire propelling him away.

Only after Kamui's departure did the other New Humans in the room feel relief, though it didn't mean they were significantly different from him.

They perfunctorily agreed to the tasks assigned by the high-ranking officials and then left, ignoring them completely.

In the hallway, a New Human scoffed.

"Whatever, a bunch of old geezers."

...

The fifty New Humans were divided into ten squads. Nominally, Kamui's squad had five members, but in reality, nobody paid attention to the other four.

Kamui's brilliance overshadowed the others; the remaining four felt insignificant. They resented this situation but were powerless to change it.

After all, Kamui was far stronger.

Kamui could generate and control intense flames from his body and possessed terrifying physical enhancements; his defense and recovery capabilities were monstrous.

Not only was he unbeatable in a one-on-one fight, many suspected that even the remaining forty-nine New Humans combined wouldn't be able to defeat him.

A member of Kamui's squad opened a communication channel.

"Kamui, we're en route to the mission location…"

"Unnecessary."

Kamui's powerful voice cut the squad member off. "I can handle it alone."

He abruptly ended the communication.

"Damn it! Son of a bitch!"

The squad member whose communication had been cut off exploded with rage, punching a hole in the wall. "It's always like this!"

"Ha ha, try telling him that to his face!"

"Alright, alright, calm down."

His teammates tried to soothe him, downplaying their feelings, though they secretly resented Kamui's dominance, his glory overshadowing their achievements.

...

New City's high-ranking officials.

Several elderly men reviewed the 24/7 surveillance footage of Kamui's squad. The New Humans seemed on the brink of losing control, but the situation was still manageable.

"Kamui is becoming increasingly difficult to control. The flaws in the other New Humans' personalities are also becoming more pronounced. A major incident is inevitable."

"The first generation is always imperfect. That's why our technology needs improvement. Compared to their value, their flaws are insignificant."

"How's the progress on the second generation?"

"The engineers are working on solutions for the personality flaws. It's a significant challenge, with limited progress so far. We must be patient."

"What's the status of eliminating opposing forces?"

"Most of the violent factions and opposition forces on the mainland have been cleared. The remaining groups pose minimal threat. The situation across the ocean is unclear; we've launched satellites to gather more information."

New City was currently the largest human settlement on Earth and possessed the most advanced technology, but this didn't mean it controlled the entire planet.

Outside New City, especially on the other continents across the ocean, the situation remained unknown. Even nearby, several nomadic violent factions persisted.

These factions rejected civilization, lost in savagery and bloodshed, and were prime targets for the New Humans.

A crimson flame streaked across the sky.

Boom!

Kamui landed with ferocious force, pulverizing the rubble beneath his feet, the resulting tremor kicking up a cloud of dust.

However,

There was no one around.

"Where are the thugs?"

Kamui suspected he'd been tricked by the higher-ups, his expression darkening with anger; he planned to deal with those old geezers upon his return.

Just as he was about to leave, he paused, frowning. A figure had appeared in the rubble, unseen moments before.

Ordinary humans could be careless, but Kamui was a New Human. If someone had been there, he would have sensed their breathing and heartbeat.

Considering this.

Kamui was curious about the figure's identity, but not worried. Everyone in New City, including himself, knew he was the strongest!

Mei remained silent, observing Kamui. She couldn't fathom human thought processes, but she could sense the energy within him.

It was a crude form of chemi-kinetic energy.

Even for a New Human, the energy Kamui unleashed was at the lowest level in the universe; the power and efficiency of chemi-kinetic energy were too low.

Kamui disliked Mei's scrutinizing gaze. He was used to observing others; nobody dared to look at him like that.

He said to Mei, "Are you a new recruit? I don't remember seeing someone like you among the New Humans. And if you continue staring at me like that, I'll twist your head off."

Hearing this,

Mei smiled.

"Oh? Try me."

Boom!

The instant Mei spoke, Kamui lunged at her, acting on his words; she had genuinely angered him.

However,

Mei was faster. Before Kamui could react, Mei grabbed his head and lifted him into the air. Before he could register his shock, Mei exerted a slight pressure, and Kamui felt a long-forgotten pain.

"Aa!!"

With a pained cry, Kamui felt his head might explode.

"You're so weak it doesn't even interest me to fight you. I only did this to teach you a lesson; otherwise, you wouldn't listen."

With that,

Mei casually tossed Kamui to the ground. Kamui clutched his head, writhing in pain before regaining his composure.

His eyes bloodshot, Kamui retreated fearfully, creating distance as if it would offer some sense of security. "Who… who are you?!"

This was the first time he'd encountered an opponent—no, not an opponent; this person possessed the power to instantly kill him.

Kamui was incredulous.

Wasn't he the strongest New Human?

Where did this person come from?!

Kamui's fear was laced with intense confusion and rage. His inflated self-confidence made this reality difficult to accept.

Mei spoke with interest, "Ever played a strategy simulation game? You can think of this as a massive strategy simulation game I'm playing."

"What?"

Kamui didn't understand the connection.

Mei continued, "I often play those strategy simulation games. Even without other players, you need AI opponents; it's more fun that way. A solo game without victory or defeat is pointless."

Mei had accelerated Earth's civilization as a game; she found it amusing, but not excessively so; she simply wanted to experience the enjoyment of the game.

She wouldn't provide any substantial assistance to Earth's civilization, nor would she arrogantly attempt to guide its development.

Her primary goal was to preserve the seed of Earth's civilization and observe its reconstruction. Ordinarily, Mei remained an observer, only occasionally interacting with individuals, witnessing the rise and fall of their civilization and Earth itself.

This was Mei's greatest pleasure.

Mei said to Kamui, "And you, are another player in this game, aside from myself. A gamble. In my eyes, your life will end tragically."

Kamui's rage was evident; he couldn't accept his life being treated as a game, but he suppressed his emotions; he wasn't a match for her.

"Or what?"

"In this game, you have complete autonomy. I won't interfere. If your life ends gloriously, I lose. As a reward, I will grant you extended longevity and even greater power."

Kamui was intrigued, yet skeptical.

"Do you have that kind of power?"

Mei simply asked,

"What do you think? This gamble is inconsequential to your life; whether or not I possess such power, prove me wrong."

"…"

"I await your performance."

Kamui watched Mei vanish into thin air, like a phantom. He clenched his fists, his rapid breathing causing his chest to heave.

Boom!

For the first time, Kamui felt true weakness. The thought of his life being treated as a game enraged him.

Mei's casual attitude deeply wounded Kamui's pride. He could only vent his fury on the surrounding ruins.

Only when the ruins were engulfed in flames did Kamui regain his composure. A look of fierce resentment and hatred flashed in his eyes; he gnashed his teeth.

"I'll twist your head off one day!"

Many New Humans, including Kamui, overestimated their abilities, leading them to scorn the higher-ups. In fact, alongside the New Humans' creation, a special virus targeting their genes had also been developed. If a New Human lost control and rampaged, death was inevitable.

From her god-like perspective, Mei was aware of the virus's existence; it was a failsafe for controlling out-of-control New Humans.

She didn't care about Kamui because the flaws in the first generation of New Humans were too apparent; their personalities, emotions, and even their very essence had fatal flaws.

Even if the New City higher-ups didn't kill them, internal conflict and mutual slaughter were inevitable; their survival rate would be exceedingly low.

Mei exited the accelerated spacetime, observing Earth's rapid development. Kamui, a focus of her attention, didn't disappoint.

Year 52 of the new era.

Kamui overheard his teammates talking about him. Without hesitation, he found them and eliminated all four other members of his squad.

The battle was noisy, and Kamui's actions were witnessed by many, causing his reputation to plummet. He was subsequently forced into self-imposed confinement as punishment, suggested by New City's leadership; he was particularly concerned about his reputation, thus accepting their proposal.

Without the adulation of others, Kamui's fragile self-esteem would crumble. Only praise, flattery, and obedience could provide him with a sense of superiority and belonging.

This was one of his flaws.

That same year.

A New Human who had long resented Kamui mocked him as a spoiled brat who couldn't even wipe his own ass. Upon hearing this, Kamui personally snapped the man's neck.

His confinement was largely meaningless; Kamui simply wasn't assigned missions.

Year 53 of the new era.

New City was attacked by a group of savage thugs, suffering significant losses. Kamui arrived on the scene and eliminated the thugs, boosting his reputation.

Year 55 of the new era.

New City launched its first satellite, gradually restoring global communication and all-weather surveillance capabilities, revealing the situation across the ocean.

Kamui's achievements in missions across the ocean were glorious; his support base grew, his fame and popularity reaching a zenith in New City.

That year, Kamui's ambition and self-confidence also peaked. He attempted to seize control of New City, using force to replace the leadership and gain the city's complete reverence and worship.

He not only planned this but acted on it, becoming the first of the first-generation New Humans to have his genetic virus activated. He nearly died during the high-level meeting.

In the meeting room.

The elderly men stared at Kamui with emotionless eyes. One of them said coldly, "We created you; we can destroy you. If you wish to continue serving your purpose, refrain from pointless actions. Consider today's events never happened; you'd best calm down."

Then,

Kamui left the meeting room, gnashing his teeth in frustrated rage. He couldn't tolerate being controlled or disrespected.

This was the second time he'd been powerless to retaliate. Kamui remembered the individual from years ago, fueling his anger; everyone seemed to be bullying him.

To vent his anger, he eliminated a new recruit. This action ignited the remaining New Humans' fury.

Kamui repeatedly slaughtered New Humans without restraint, and they were terrified of him. The point of tolerance and retreat had passed.

Nobody knew who Kamui's next victim would be, and the simmering resentment among the New Humans led them to secretly plot his elimination.

At this point, Kamui was truly universally despised.

Bang!

Returning to his villa, Kamui smashed a table to pieces, roaring, "Don't treat me like that! Don't order me around like that!!"

He raged for a long time before stopping.

Mei silently appeared beside him, waiting until he calmed down before speaking, "I thought this game would last a little longer. It seems I overestimated you."

Kamui's adrenaline surged. Although he knew he wasn't Mei's match, he felt no fear. Mei's appearance only fueled his anger.

"It's you! It has to be you!"

Kamui raged, "You must be manipulating things behind the scenes! I haven't lost this game yet! I have plenty of time left; I haven't lost!"

Mei didn't get angry; instead, she was amused by Kamui's childish temper. She chuckled, "Claiming you haven't lost is unconvincing. I'll wait and see."

"You…"

Kamui tried to speak but paled. His enhanced senses detected powerful heartbeats and surging energy—the situation was obvious.

His villa was surrounded by New Humans; they had come to fight him. Realizing this, Kamui's face contorted.

He gritted his teeth, blaming Mei entirely. His voice was full of rage and resentment.

"You're targeting me!"

Blinded by rage, Kamui, as irrational as ever, attacked Mei, unleashing a powerful inferno that instantly leveled the villa.

Boom!

In the darkness.

The bright flames and deafening explosions were like thunder, the violent shockwave and heat overwhelming the New Humans.

Regardless, Kamui was undoubtedly the strongest of the first-generation New Humans. Without a coordinated assault, the other New Humans wouldn't dare attack him.

A figure emerged from the flames. Seeing Mei unharmed, Kamui instinctively took two steps back. He saw the approaching New Humans and pointed at Mei.

"You're here just in time! It's him! He's been targeting me, targeting us! If we attack together, we can definitely—"

A young New Human acted decisively, appearing before Kamui. His fist smashed into Kamui's face with considerable force, creating ripples in the air.

Bang!

However,

Apart from a dull thud and Kamui staggering slightly, there was no significant damage; Kamui tossed the young man aside with one hand.

He continued to point at Mei and shout.

"I know you resent me, but this isn't the time for that! Don't you see that person?! He's inciting you against me!!"

In fact, the New Humans saw no one where Kamui was pointing. Without a word, they launched a coordinated attack.

Mei simply observed.

Forced to defend against the onslaught, Kamui continued to glare at Mei, roaring, "Look! He's the mastermind!!!"

However,

This was merely Kamui's attempt to evade responsibility and shift the blame. Mei hadn't influenced anyone's actions.

She was a player, but a skilled one. Kamui's current predicament was entirely self-made.

Boom!

The nighttime battle raged for half an hour.

Twenty New Humans died at Kamui's hands; the others were either severely wounded or fled.

Similarly,

Kamui was in no better shape. This was the first time he'd been so severely injured since becoming a New Human; his energy was almost completely depleted, and his wounds weren't healing quickly. His battle prowess was severely diminished; he was covered in blood and wounds.

The battlefield was engulfed in flames. Mei calmly approached Kamui. "In this situation, what are your chances of survival?"

"I haven't lost! You must be manipulating things behind the scenes!"

Kamui muttered, stubbornly defiant, "I haven't lost… I haven't lost…"

Mei ignored Kamui's defiance, looking at the few New Humans who were cautiously approaching. She asked Kamui, "You must be out of energy, right?"

Kamui only repeated his claims of not losing and Mei secretly sabotaging him, until one of the returning New Humans pierced his skull.

His energy depleted, the once invincible Kamui was now as frail as an ordinary human. After a brief struggle, he died ignominiously.

"I haven't lost…"

His voice faded; Kamui was silent. The first game ended with the player's death; Mei had won.

Time continued to accelerate.

The New Humans' civil war ended with Kamui's death. The fifty New Humans suffered heavy losses; the first generation faded from Earth's history.

Year 60 of the new era.

New City's genetic modification technology underwent a second historical breakthrough. The second generation of New Humans propelled individual human strength to a higher level.

The first generation of New Humans relied on chemi-kinetic energy, requiring a specialized diet to release energy during digestion.

The second generation represented a qualitative leap. New City had not only addressed the personality and emotional flaws of the first generation's genetic modifications, but the second generation also had far greater and more efficient energy release capabilities.

Nuclear energy!

The second generation no longer needed special diets; they obtained sufficient reactive materials from the air through respiration, undergoing intense reactions within their bodies to release immense nuclear energy.

Theoretically, the second-generation New Humans were tireless; as long as their mental fortitude held, they could fight forever, their energy inexhaustible.

Furthermore, lacking the personality and emotional flaws of the first generation, they were far calmer and more rational, possessing greater stability—truly perfect New Humans.

Given the second generation's immense power, New City selected only ten individuals for the experiment. All ten children were successfully modified.

After the successful modification, the second-generation New Humans underwent further education to prevent psychological and personality distortions during development.

The first generation served as a cautionary tale.

Year 70 of the new era.

New City, Central Library.

"I know you resent me, but this isn't the time for that! Don't you see that person?! He's inciting you against me!!"

"Look! He's the mastermind!!!"

A young man with short black hair watched the surveillance footage, deep in thought. Was Kamui truly insane, or had he actually seen someone?

After Kamui's death, New City had investigated his strange actions and words but found nothing; no contact with anyone had been detected.

The young man's name was Hui—unlike the first generation, the second generation had individual names. Hui embodied everyone's hopes, signifying a guide for human civilization.

As a New Human, his designation was "Son of Light."

Hui's position among the second-generation New Humans mirrored Kamui's among the first; he was the strongest, but far more rational, composed, and self-controlled—even gentle. He was almost inhumanly perfect.

"Still looking at that?"

A friend glanced at Hui's screen, shaking his head. "I know you're bothered by this, but there's nothing to it. Kamui was just losing it."

At that precise moment, Mei calmly sat opposite him, engrossed in a book. She briefly looked up at Hui.

"What do you think?"

Despite her presence, others seemed completely oblivious to Mei, as if she were invisible.

Hui understood.

"In this game, I'm your second chosen opponent, am I?"

Mei answered Hui's question without hesitation.

"Yes."

"Why?"

Hui didn't understand. "What value or meaning does this game hold for you?"

Mei pondered, "I'm an observer, a witness. The course of a civilization is incredibly long; one must derive some enjoyment from it."

Witness.

Civilizational progress.

These simple words left Hui deeply contemplative; this individual's power surpassed his imagination; they weren't on the same level.

"Why choose Earth?"

Hui initially assumed that someone as powerful as Mei couldn't be an Earthling, but rather an alien or a higher-level being, hence his question.

After all, Earth had a history of alien invasion. Though the records were vague, research indicated that those non-human lifeforms originated from space.

Mei didn't answer.

Simply put, she was an Earthling, but she intended to remain behind the scenes and wouldn't reveal her identity or origin easily.

She redirected the conversation. "The conditions for victory are simple. If you can lead Earth civilization into a new era and successfully achieve interstellar colonization, you win this game."

Noticing Mei's unwillingness to answer, Hui didn't press further but asked directly, "Will you secretly obstruct me?"

"I won't."

Mei patiently explained, "Kamui was simply avoiding responsibility, hence his fabricated lies. I abide by the rules I set."

"Good."

"I look forward to your performance."

Suddenly, Mei vanished; the book fell onto the table. The others were startled; they didn't know how the book appeared. Hui picked it up and placed it back on the shelf.

From beginning to end, he remained remarkably calm, a stark contrast to Kamui's initial encounter with Mei.

On the way back, Hui asked his friends, "If there were a god on Earth, what would you think?"

"A god?"

One of them shook his head.

"Earth doesn't need a god."

Mei repeatedly presented herself as an observer and witness, but from the perspective of Earth's inhabitants, she was undoubtedly a god.

Hui's understanding was accurate.

As Mei had observed, Hui was a New Human who comprehensively surpassed Kamui; he was perfect in every sense.

As a New Human, he wasn't consumed by his power; few had witnessed him using force. He mostly dedicated his time to learning.

His intellectual abilities were exceptional; he quickly mastered vast amounts of knowledge and engaged in in-depth research in any field.

Chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, philosophy, literature—there wasn't a subject he didn't excel in; even politics was within his grasp.

Year 80 of the new era.

Hui made significant contributions to biology, physics, chemistry, and materials science, particularly in aerospace engineering, virtually single-handedly propelling technological advancement.

That year, he entered politics, running for New City's leadership. Faced with such a perfect leader, New City's leadership offered no resistance; Hui became the new leader with absolute support.

Hui fully embraced the New Humans' mission and responsibility. From that year onward, Earth civilization entered a period of even faster development.

Year 90 of the new era.

Earth civilization achieved complete unification and restored order; the efficiency of human communication and knowledge transmission greatly improved.

After rebuilding the satellite network, major breakthroughs were made in manned spaceflight and deep space exploration, paving the way for the exploration of Mars and subsequent colonization plans.

Year 120 of the new era.

A spacecraft carrying 5,000 humans departed Earth for Mars, marking the completion of the exploration phase and the beginning of colonization.

Year 140 of the new era.

After twenty years of construction, the Mars colony was completed. Tens of thousands of humans now lived there, with the population rapidly growing.

That year, Hui was ninety years old. As a New Human, his lifespan was longer than that of an ordinary person, but his physical condition inevitably began to decline.

That year.

Hui stepped down as New City's leader. As Earth's leader, his achievements were undoubtedly monumental.

When Mei met him again, Hui appeared unchanged, but his demeanor, honed over the years, was seasoned and composed.

Dressed in a black suit and white shirt, his sleeves rolled up, his neatly trimmed hair impeccable, he stood amidst the ruins, watching electromagnetic cannons launch spacecraft into near-Earth orbit.

"Well, I did pretty well, don't you think?"

Mei conceded defeat.

"You win this game."

"Actually, I don't know. This game seemed like a sure win for me, but your perspective would be more comprehensive. Why choose me?"

"The fun is in the risk of losing."

Mei continued, "And I genuinely believe in humanity's potential. Sometimes I gamble with myself; it's not necessarily a complete loss."

Hearing this, Hui laughed, removing his tie, a brilliant light emanating from his body as his nuclear energy surged.

His eyes blazed with battle intent.

"As a winner's reward, forget the other stuff. Let's have a fight—a fight to the death; only one can survive!"

In his ninety years, this was Hui's most intense display of fighting spirit.

"As you wish."

Mei readily agreed. "But it's utterly pointless."

"Utterly crucial!"

Boom!

A searing light erupted; Hui, like a sun, melted the ruins into molten lava, transforming into a blazing streak of light that tore through the air with a deafening roar.

His eyes resolute, he declared, "Humanity doesn't need gods!"

He had waited seventy years for this battle. In those seventy years, New City's genetic modification technology had advanced to the fourth generation. After undergoing the fourth-generation modification, Hui's power was far greater, but considering his declining physical condition, he'd stepped down from his leadership role.

He firmly believed that humanity no longer needed gods and was willing to gamble his life for this belief; this was his final contribution to human civilization.

Within the searing light, the intense nuclear energy was completely blocked, as if an invisible barrier prevented any energy from reaching Mei.

"As an opponent, you're weak, but as a human, you deserve my respect. Since you've asked, I won't hold back."

"Excellent!"

Hui's smile was as radiant as his light, his acceptance of death and his fervent attitude igniting his ferocious energy. He unleashed a full-powered strike against Mei.
