It had been a year since the Uchiha incident.
Things were starting to get back to normal now, but the blow Konoha suffered would forever show its scars.
But it didn't affect me much personally, well except for the fact that now I possessed quite probably the most sought after eye in the whole world.
The right of eye Shisui, in the anime, he gave it to Itachi, and it ended up never being used.
But with my existence, things of course didn't go as the original plot wanted it to.
But I realized, that so far, I haven't really made a big impact on the story.
Yes, I got the eye of Shisui which I can miraculously activate and deactivate on will, unlike Kakashi, but the eye of Shisui (in the hands of Itachi) was never important to the plot. Itachi offered it to Naruto to change Sasuke's mind but it was never used so it was useless.
Only five people knew about how I got my right eye fixed, Shikaku, Hiruzen, Yoshino, Haruto and Shikamaru.
Originally, Shikaku tried to hide it from Shikamaru, but since Shikamaru wasn't your ordinary 7 year old, he had to tell him.
I didn't go out of the house for a few days.
Shikaku made a cover story, Saying that he encountered Shizune and Tsunade while me and him were out traveling, and that he had Shizune transplant the eye.
Hiruzen backed him up, so people didn't question him.
With all the mess of the Uchiha massacre, no one questioned this small event.
Danzo was probably sure that the other of eye of Shisui was with Itachi, but still, now I had even more reason to be afraid of him.
Regardless, the Uchiha massacre went just as the same in the cannon except for me getting the eye.
Sasuke was left traumatized, we would visit him everyday in the hospital, after he was released, he even spent a few days with us at our house.
But Sasuke had changed, he was quiet now, didn't say a word, only answered in yes or no, rarely uttering any other words, staring out into nothing.
Of course, you wouldn't expect him to be fine after his elder brother, who was also idol, murdered his entire clan and betrayed his village.
Poor guy was all alone in the world in his mind.
He even acted a bit crazy the first few days in the hospital, probably due to the damage Itachi caused to his brains.
Now he was back at the Uchiha compound, he wasn't alone there. Had multiple workers to take care of him and the clan houses.
Sasuke had become a bit better now, he would smile once in a while but never talked much. Much better from his anime counterpart, probably because he actually had some close friends in me and Shikamaru.
Regardless, he was still the quiet and broody Uchiha we knew from the anime, his attitude was only different towards us.
Sasuke aside. Haruto was overjoyed when she heard that a Nara now possessed the sharingan, not only a normal one, but the one only few knew of, the Mangekyo.
Shikaku of course had to reveal this to Hiruzen who was relieved that atleast one of Shisui's powerful eyes were in the hands of Konoha, well atleast in hands where he could control it directly. He couldn't trust Danzo, not after he knew everything he had done. Of course, he had given that bastard a good beating, but he just couldn't bring himself to do anything further, nor did he have the proof to prove Danzo's dirty deeds.
Afterall, in the eyes of the Council, Danzo was the Shadow Hokage who looked after the village from the shadows.
Shikaku wasn't coping well with everything, not only did he have to deal with Uchiha Massacre's aftermath, he had to create the cover story, having to immediately go on a trip, he also had to deal with the fact that now his "Son" was the wielder of quite possibly the most valuable and dangerous eye in the world.
He had told me to not use the Sharingan at all, since using it drained so much chakra that I would pass out within seconds.
He told me that we were gonna start training with it when he deemed it necessary.
For now, me, Shikaku and Shikamaru were heading to Haruto's house to greet a 'special' guest.
As we entered the house, sound of laughter could be heard.
There she was, Haruto, sitting on the table drinking tea, and infront of her, was a elderly man with a surprisingly muscular build, he was tall and big.
Shikaku smiled and bowed towards the man, "It's been a long time, Mr. Shensou."
The elderly man, Shensou, smiled and waved, "Indeed, it's been quite a long time since we last spoke Young man. Well I guess you aren't exactly 'young' anymore. Looks like you've got kids of your own now huh?"
Shikaku chuckled, "Yes-" he pushed me and Shikamaru forward, "These two are my sons, this is Shikamaru and this is Kai."
I bowed towards Shensou and so did Shikamaru, "it's an honor to meet you."
Shensou was surprised at my words, "Woah, you sure he is your kid? He is much more respectful and formal than you ever were, you were so different from him when you were his age, he is your eldest or you got any other kid?"
Shikaku shook his head, "No, and both of them are the same age, Kai is just taller and bigger compared to kids his age. And no, I don't have any other kids."
Haruto signalled us to come and sit with them, "Come here kids! I've got snacks for you!"
Shikaku walked over to sit beside Shensou and me and Shikamaru walked over to sit beside Haruto.
Haruto pointed towards Shensou and said, "This man here is a great friend and Ally of the Nara clan, his Name is Shensou Zenara, he comes from a very far place, the Land of Iron. He is a great swordsmith, long ago, he was the one who taught out the clan the art of forging special swords that we now use to make swords for our warriors."
Shensou finished his tea and looked at Shikaku and then at Haruto, "Enough with the formalities. Let's get straight to the point, you know I am here for a reason right? I didn't come here to have a get-together, the Land of Iron is too far away for that."
Haruto grumbled, "I figured."
Shensou sighed, "Well there was a giant mine that was discovered some time ago, it contains potent element iron and metal needed for forgery, well some bandits and rogue ninjas captured the mine and killed all of our miners and aren't letting us use it, you know how the Land of Iron is, the ninjas over there are worthless, so I had to come here to get help. Here's the info I found on the rogue ninjas there."
Shenshou handed a paper to Shikaku.
Shikaku looked over the names on the paper and looked at Shensou, "These are just a bunch of E-ranks and D-ranks, nothing a bunch of Genin can't handle."
Shenshou sighed, "I'd be grateful if you would be willing to help us with this."
It looked Shikaku was about to speak up, but Haruto beat him to it, "Yes Yes! And I know just the right people to help you." Haruto grinned and turned towards me and Shikamaru.
A concerned look spread over Shikaku's face, "You possibly cant-"
Two Days Later
Me and Shikamaru were going to the Land Of Iron alongside Mr. Shensou.
The objective assigned to us by Haruto was simple, take care of the rogue ninjas and then return to the capital, where she or Shikaku would come to pick us up.
Shikaku was initially against the idea of sending us their, but he yielded on Haruto's insistence and figured it wouldn't be too dangerous, as these were barely Shinobi at all.
Right now, we were at the village gate, with Shikaku alongside us.
My t-shirt was still wet from Yoshino's tears.
The guards opened the gate and Shikaku looked at me and Shikamaru.
"Remember, listen to Mr. Shensou, he may not be a Shinobi, but he is one of the wisest men I've met in life. Don't go off route, and don't get into unnecessary combat. If it looks like they may be stronger than expected, retreat and go to capital of the Land Of Iron. Be careful, the men you will face won't be me or Haruto or the other clan members, they can and will try to kill you. Now, get going, and remember to never Mr. Shensou alone."
I nodded, and so did Shikamaru, who wasn't being lazy for once.
Afterall, we were going FAR away from home, to a place filled with killers, killers we were going to kill, or defeat atleast. I was the only thought who considered the killing them part.
People do not realise this but, Clan kids, especially the Heirs like Shikamaru, Sasuke, Choji, Etc, are much stronger than the average Shinobi even as kids. And considering the fact that my existence has caused Shikamaru to become stronger than he probably was in the canon. This mission should be a walk in the park.
Mr. Shensou hugged Shikaku and nodded before he looked down at us and signalled us to follow him as he started walking.
We followed him, and looked back to see Shikaku waving at us as the doors closed.
This is gonna be fun.
