The Blackblood Lord's words fell like thunder in the room.
After the initial few seconds, Aksai couldn't keep his face expressionless.
His eyes widened in shock. Haitin, who had been standing silently beside the bed, turned his head sharply toward his father. Humeyin also looked up in surprise.
The Blackblood Lord chuckled.
"All of you act like I just told you to attack the Yaksha Sect and kill the Yaksha Lord with your bare hands. Hahaha. But I suppose this is a normal reaction. You didn't expect that, did you?" he said.
Then he turned his head and looked at his daughter with tired eyes. "Little Meyin… do you trust me?"
Humeyin's expression changed. She looked at her father, her mouth slightly open as if she wanted to say something. But in the end, she simply nodded. Her eyes shimmered, holding back something unspoken.
Seeing that, the Blackblood Lord turned back to Aksai.
