Grace swallowed and asked in a barely steady voice. "Waited… for what?"
Aedric's lips parted and with great expectation declared, "To set me free."
A heavy silence filled the chamber following Aedric's words.
"To set me free," Grace repeated the words in her mind. The way he said it with absolute certainty sent a shiver down her spine.
She stole a glance at King Lester, expecting to see the slightest bit of doubt or at least a dismissive wave of the hand, but he was watching Aedric intently, as if waiting to see what would happen next.
Jace, however, wasn't nearly as patient as could be seen from his tightened grip on Grace's wrist. "I don't like this," he whispered so only she could hear.
Neither did she, Grace said to herself, but the young prince looked so pitiful that she was tempted to believe that she could actually save him… but that was only if she had the ability. Unfortunately she knew she didn't.
