After half an hour of rest, the battle reignited, with the helicopter directly joining the fight. Hovering near the bridgehead, it strafed with its 30mm cannon, sometimes killing three zombies with a single bullet, while many more zombies lost limbs or were dismembered. In the span of two minutes, using only the helicopter's cannon, the bridgehead was held.
The helicopter returned to Mountain Base, and after five minutes took off again, with Maya waving goodbye to the people at Mountain Base.
Maya pressed a button, and a signal appeared on the radar screen; after locking onto the signal, the helicopter made a half-turn and flew towards the signal's location.
People at Shadow Base stood and watched as the helicopter approached from the north, its speed increasing. Maya's voice came through the intercom: "I'll go ahead first."
"See you later," everyone replied in unison.
