Chapter 116 - PWA 116 On the Way to Cupcake City

We have a breakfast with all of our Pokemons after that and then clean up our camp before we go together to get out of the forest.

By Noon, we are already arrived at the foot of the small mountain range that becomes a natural barrier that protected Cupcake City back in the human and pokemons warring era dozens of years ago in the past.

After taking a little break while having lunch, we then continue our journey hiking up the small hills and mountain.

The Pokémon in this rocky terrain are obviously different than the Pokémons living in the forest that we have come from earlier.

The Pokémons that live here in the mountainous region are mostly of Ground or Rock type, like Sandshrew or their evolution Sandslash, and also the Geodudes that hides everywhere and camouflaged themselves well as an ordinary looking rock boulder,

Sometimes we are getting ambushed from the surprise attacks that comes from the Diglett underground, and also from the giant rock snake Onix that unfortunately, always fail to surprise us due to it massive size and heavy weight that make us can felt the tremor from the ground below whenever one of such heavy hitter comes burrowing towards us from the underground.

But if I must choose between fighting an Onix or a Diglett, I will chooses the former without a second thought most of the time.

Why? It is because the Onix body that is so large is very easy to spot from the bumps they make along the way whenever they burrows underground with their Dig move, so they are rarely able to make a surprise attack nor succeed in making an ambush toward us, unlike the Diglett that is way too small and thus making their trace become sp difficult to spot when they are digging their way underground to ambush or surprise us with their attacks.

Aside from those Pokémons, we also get a chance to see a Graveler, too.

But too bad that the evolutionary stage of the Geodude is just passing by us in a Rollout down the hill.

And by the time we are all have successfully jumping aside out of its way to avoid being crushed that rolling rock Pokémon, the Graveler is already rolled down so far to the foot of the mountain.

Phew, at least this time I get to avoid getting an accident on my way.

Oh, aside from Rock and Ground type pokemons, there are also some other type like a Normal type Whismur and their evolution Loudred.

We even got to fight a 3 on 3 Pokémon Battle against a Trainer who trains both a Whismur and a Loudred along the way.

Since they are quite interesting to me, here is the Pokédex.

[Whismur, the Whisper Pokémon, is a Normal type Pokémon.]

[Whismur is a very timid Pokémon. Normally, Whismur's voice is very quiet, its voice is so small that it is barely audible even if one is paying close attention to them. However, if this Pokémon senses danger, it will starts crying at an earsplitting volume. And when a Whismur start to cry loudly, it will become startled by its own loud crying sound and then it will cries even harder than before]

[The cry of a Whismur can easily reach over 100 decibels in volume. So, if you are staying close to a Whismur when it lets out a loud cry, you will be stuck with an all-day long headache after that. And when a Whismur finally stops crying, the Pokémon will goes to sleep in exhaustion, all tired out from making such a loud voice for quite a long time.]

[Whismur inhales through its ear canals. Because of this system, it can cry continually with the volume of a jet-plane engine without having to catch its breath. You can immediately stop a Whismur from crying by shutting its ear covers close, provided that you can stand near it to close its ear while hearing its loud crying voice at point blank range.]

[This Whismur have the ability Soundproof, and it knows the move Disarming Voice (Egg Move), Astonish, Pound, Echoed Voice, Howl, Rest, Sleep Talk, and Double Team.]

I send out Zozo a fellow Normal type Pokémon to fight against it, and he won the battle with his Swagger and Tail Whip combo that make the Whismur falls into confusion, raises its attack while reducing its defense for maximum self inflicted damage.

Even when that Whismur is doing the Rest and Sleep Talk Combo to heal itself back to prime condition while still being able to attack despite it is sleeping, my Zigzagoon can easily evaded all the attacks that it launched randomly.

By the time that Whismur have woken up from its sleep, it is already in the red again and it looks around in confusion as it didn't see its enemy anywhere on the battling arena.

Of course that is because Zozo have used his combo move Surprise! by using Dig at first to burrow underground.

And with a nice Headbutt that he executed the moment he emerged from underground, the combined power of Dig plus Headbutt successfully floored the Whismur to the ground.

For the second round of the battle, I send out Shion who get to fight against the opponent's Geodude.

[Geodude, the Rock Pokémon, is a Dual type Rock and Ground Pokémon.]

[Geodude is often found in the fields near the mountain trails and also in many other rocky terrains. Mistaking them for just some ordinary boulders, people often step or trip on them, which in turn make it angry and attacked the people who accidentally stepped on them. An exception is when a Geodude falls to sleep deeply as it buries itself halfway into the ground. In that state, it will not be awakened even if hikers were to step on it unwittingly.]

[Proud of their sturdy bodies, they bash against each other in a contest to prove whose body is harder and stronger. Geodude uses its arms to steadily climb the steep mountain paths. It swings its fists around if it is getting angered.]

[The longer a Geodude lives, the more its edges are chipped and worn away, making it more rounded in appearance. However, this Pokémon's heart will remain hard, craggy, and rough always, despite this Pokémon also having a calm and quiet disposition if it is not being angered. Also, a Geodude's round form makes this Pokémon very easy to be picked up. Some people have even used them to hurl at each other in a literally hardcore snowball fight.]

[In the morning, this Pokémon rolls downhill in search of food. Many people may not notice them, but there are actually many Geodudes hiding in almost everywhere, posing as an ordinary rock that are plenty to be found along any road. A scholar with too much free time once counted a hundred of them along a single route.]

[This Geodude have the ability Rock Head, and it knows the move Hammer Arm (Egg Move), Defense Curl, Tackle, Rock Polish, Rollout, Bulldoze, Rock Throw and Smack Down.]

Well, her battle didn't take long as it is more like a one sided slaughter with my Wooxie dominating the battle with her Grass type moves that are super duper effective against the Rock type Geodude.

Poor Geodude, its dual typing Rock and Ground both get super effective damage from the Grass type (4x damage in game), so Shion only need to give it a lash with a Vine Whip when the Geodude is trying to use Rock Polish to buff itself and then continue by shooting at it with her Bullet Seed as a finisher when the Geodude are trying to Bulldoze its way to my Wooxie, all of that took less than twenty seconds as the Geodude has fallen before it have even touched my Pokémon, the Rock/Ground Pokémon is already getting floored to the ground on half of its way in its attempt to use Bulldoze.

And after I have bagged my second winning, it's time for the final round! Even though I am already winning against two of his Pokémons, who knows how strong his third Pokémon is, right?

[ ] Author's Note [ ]

I just realized that so far I haven't even give out a Pokédex Information about the Geodude yet 😅 I almost skipped it on the second battle since I thought I have already given them on the previous chapter, good thing that my wive (my private editor) reminds me of that 🥰

But wow, the battle against that Geodude is way faster than even me typing the summary of their duel 😅 Heck, even the Geodude's Pokédex entry is way longer than its battle 🤣 What a shame.
