Chapter 33 - PWA 33 Jelly Bean Town III [Rewrite]

Moving on, we still have a third of an hour left on the rent.

I and Kotonoha stand side by side in front of the PC, browsing around to see if there is any other interesting news in this Town.

Entering the local news portal, we found two interesting articles that piqued our interest.

The first is an article about a local, unofficial Gym made by the strongest local newby trainer in this town.

It is said that he is on the way to train himself and his Pokémon by battling the other fellow new trainers who have yet to collect their first Gym Badge on his self made gym that is located in a cave just 5 minutes walk outside the town.

Hmm.... Surely if it is only 5 minutes away that place should be safe from the flocks of Spearows, right?

The Pokémon Rangers and Ace Team must also have been patrolling around there, true?

So it must be safe to go there, yes? Yes?

I look down on the bottommost part of the article and found that he have an incredible winning rate of never losing even once on his 96th battle up to yesterday.

It is also stated that he will only stay in his self made gym until he have battled for 100 times and after that he will begin his journey to challenge the Gym all around this Region to collect the nine Gym Badges necessary to enter the League Tournament.

Oh, he must be a very strong opponent. Interesting, I will go and challenge him later.

Next, on the second article, it is about the Local Duel Dome Tournament in this Town.

In this PokeWack World, every Town and Cities is quite complete compared to the game version.

Aside from the Official Gym and Mall or Department Store that can only be found in the Big Cities, almost every other kinds of building and features are exists in all Towns and Cities in this PokeWack World.

One of them is the Duel Dome that is similar to Battle Dome or Battle Tower in the Pokémon Games.

In this world, aside from selling your captured Pokémons in pokeballs, or the fresh corpse of the wild Pokemons you hunted and killed, the most lucrative way to gather money is by battling other Trainers and betting your money on it.

And the best place to make money is by entering tournaments or by battling a sanctioned battles in the Duel Dome.

Not only did it is safe compared to battling against the other trainers in the wild as there is a jury who is always stay on standby to stop the battle if it is deemed to be too dangerous.

You also can get additional money entering the tournament that is usually held on there almost everyday.

There are two kinds of tournament that is held in the Duel Dome.

The Single Battle Tournament where Trainers compete on 1 vs 1 , single round Pokémon battle from the preliminary until the final.

And the Tag Team Tournament where the Trainer make a team with one other Trainer, and the pair compete on 2 vs 2, single round double battle until they win the tournament.

The Single Battle Tournament is scheduled on the morning today which is unfortunate as it is already finished by now.

But the Tag Team Tournament registration is still open until now.

You can register on the tournament from the Pokémon Center PC by entering your Trainer ID Number.

I talk with Kotonoha and asking if she is willing to enter the tournament together with me.

On which Kotonoha asked back if it is okay as she only have one Pokémon up until now and she worried that she will just be a burden for me.

What a nonsense..... Sigh...., Kotonoha is still having a low self esteem about herself.

I hope that if we win this tournament, it can be of great help to improve her self esteem.

I then coaxed Kotonoha by saying that the Tournament is also divided into how many Gym Badges we have already collected as a raw measure of our strength, so unless there is someone so unsportive that they purposely didn't go around to collect Gym Badges just to get easy win against new trainers on Tournament, we didn't need to worry about meeting someone way above our league.

Being the Pokémon with a Legendary Number 69 as its Pokédex number, Bellsprout have a special place in the Pokémon franchise among all of the other common Pokémons. The most particular of which is the Bellsprout Tower in Johto. There is one legend that said that there was once a gigantic Bellsprout grown on what is now the Bellsprout Tower. The Gigantic Bellsprout have done so many good deeds, the most important among them is protecting the people and the Town where it resides in from the Swarms of Bug Pokémons and Hordes of Rattatas and Spearows. So high is the respect and veneration from the Townspeople, that Gigantic Bellsprout is even hailed as their Local Guardian God. But nothing sort of legendary Pokémons are Immortal, and the Gigantic Bellsprout is also of no exception. After hundreds of years, the super tall Bellsprout that for some reason cannot evolve or maybe didn't willing to become a Weepinbell met the end of its lifespan. The townspeople, out of worship and near fanatical glorification, decided to preserve the giant body of the Titanic Bellsprout by casting it with Tin and Gold. They then erected a Tower around the body, the Legendary Bellsprout Tower that until this day is still standing erect and strong like your wood in the morning. The tower that is filled with believers and monks in Bellsprout Religion who often keep the very Pokémon that they worshipped as their Pet (or maybe, it's their living Holy Symbol or a walking, miniature version of the God they believes in.)
