Chapter 14 - Chapter 14

Daphne pointedly ignored the knowing smirk on Regina's face as the naked brunette climbed off Harry, shakily standing on her feet. She kept her gaze on Harry who sat back up and raised an eyebrow.

"What?"

"Put on some clothes. I've got news to share," Daphne said curtly.

Brows furrowed slightly, Harry hopped off the desk and summoned his clothes, winking at Regina who exaggeratedly bent over to pick up her bra, showing him her creampied pussy with a coy grin over her shoulder. He pulled his shirt over and smoothed his clothes down, and with a flick of his wand, he cleaned up the room nicely. Conjuring a chair on the other side of his desk, he took a seat and gazed at Daphne with an expectant look.

"The First Task involves dragons," Daphne spoke up without preamble.

Regina stumbled midway as she took a seat, sending the chair skidding back slightly as she grabbed the desk, her eyes wide.

"What?" Harry asked, his brows furrowed in surprise.

Daphne reiterated what she'd heard Malfoy talking to his group of thugs about and both Harry and Regina exchanged a surprised look.

"… and Lucius Malfoy used his connections to make sure they select the most dangerous breeds like Horntails and Ironbellys," Daphne continued.

"Fan-fucking-tastic," Harry muttered derisively. "Now I've gotta take care of an overgrown lizard that breathes fire, eh?"

"I don't think they'll make you fight them," Regina supplied hopefully.

"Don't you know the history of this tournament, Parkinson?" Daphne asked, trying to keep her true emotions from being displayed on her face. "How many died the last time it was held? That cockatrice killed all three champions and a good chunk of the crowd."

"Yeah, but didn't they say it'd be all under control this time?"

"Expecting the Ministry to manage an event like this without a cock up would be the biggest dumbfuckery we'd ever do," Harry said, his fingertips drumming on the desk. He eyed Daphne curiously, asking, "Anything else you heard about the task?"

"Nothing but the bit about dragons," she replied. "That's more than enough information though. Prepare to take one down and you'll manage anything else just fine."

"Well, you got a point there," Harry cocked his head.

"That's not all," Daphne continued. At his raised eyebrow, she added, "They're still planning to interfere with you before the task. Want to make sure you're not at your hundred percent so that everyone can see you piss your pants as you see that dragon."

"Real mature," Regina muttered dryly.

"Well, nothing I won't expect from a poncy cunt like Malfoy," Harry drawled. "Don't worry, I'll handle it. That dragon part though… that's troubling. The gear would help with the dragon's claws or anything of impact but I don't think it'd hold much against dragonfire."

"Something to work on then. There's still two weeks… almost."

"That's not all either," Daphne interjected once again. "Remember the bit about badges?"

"The ones Malfoy plans to distribute to make fun of me? Amateur stuff. Let him have his few minutes of fun," Harry waved her off dismissively. "I've got this dragon to focus on right now."

"Even if he plans to drag your parents into it?" Daphne asked with a pointed look directed toward Harry who paused. Slowly, he turned toward Daphne who stared back with her lips set in a thin line. "Malfoy plans to drag your parents, especially your Mum into his insults. I don't have to tell you what he might plan on doing with those insults."

The rune of rage flared beneath his clothes and Harry had to involve the full might of his Occlumency to not dart out of the room they were in to wherever Malfoy was.

"Tell me everything that shitgobbler's planning," Harry whispered dangerously.

Regina's creampied pussy tingled in delight as she gazed at Harry with half-lidded eyes. Meanwhile, Daphne shivered at the intensity of his gaze and his voice. She gulped slightly and began describing what she'd heard Malfoy tell the idiots about his plan with the badges, and Harry listened intently, his teeth gritted.

"Well then, is that so?" Harry asked with a sneer. "Looks like the night calls for a nice little excursion. You two up for it?"

"Anytime you ask," Regina grinned excitedly.

-Break-

The Slytherin Common Room was bathed in its usual eerie green glow from the lake beyond its windows as Harry Potter stepped inside, his Invisibility Cloak draped over him and his two companions. It made for a tighter fit than usual, but it was better than resorting to the disillusionment charm that could fail.

The room was empty, save for the few dying embers in the fireplace, and Harry nodded to himself.

"Let's go," he whispered, earning nods from Daphne and Regina who stood right in front of him under the cloak, keeping it over themselves. They slowly crept towards the staircase that led to the dormitories and walked up the stairs to where the boys' dormitories were. Their footsteps were muffled by the silencing charm Harry had cast earlier, not that they needed it. There was no one awake.

The corridor leading to the dormitories was narrow and winding, with doors branching off at intervals. They slowed their footsteps as they reached each door, listening intently for any sound. Nothing seemed out of place. Finally, they reached a door that was labeled with the number '4' and the names of the five students.

The door handle was an ornate silver serpent that seemed to move and slither. Daphne reached out with her wand and cast a quick unlocking charm.

There was a soft click as the serpent shifted, and the door slowly opened. Harry quickly cast a silencing charm on the entryway to ensure there would be no creaking sound echoing into the silent night.

Together, they entered and shut the door, ensuring it was not locked again. The same green glow from the Black Lake filtered through the windows, cast across the sleeping forms of Draco Malfoy, Vincent Crabbe, Gregory Goyle, Blaise Zabini, and Theodore Nott Jr. Their soft snores filled the air as they slept, blissfully unaware.

Daphne and Regina glanced at Harry over their shoulders who nodded. Together, their wands pushed out of the cloak, and before anyone could blink, five jets of red light collided with the sleeping students, ensuring they did not somehow wake up while they were still inside the room.

Harry erected a privacy bubble around them for good measure as they approached Malfoy's bed.

"All right, we can talk properly now," he said. "Any clue where this badge might be?"

"His trunk?" Regina asked with a shrug.

Harry flicked the trunk open and cast a quick summoning charm. A flat and round black badge shot out of the pocket of Malfoy's Hogwarts trousers that were hanging off the wall. Utilizing his quick seeker reflexes, Harry caught it with ease, inspecting it.

"Quite overconfident, isn't he?" Regina remarked disdainfully as she gazed at the sleeping ponce.

"Less work for us," Harry smirked, holding the badge up for the girls. "Come on, let's see what we're working with."

He led them over to the table by Malfoy's bed where he placed the badge and cast a few basic detection charms. He could easily see the different magical glows that were emanating from the badge as he pulled out all its secrets.

"Seriously?" He asked with a small laugh, making the two girls glance back at him. "The basic charm work is clever, I'll give him that. More than I expected from him, to be honest. There's a modified Protean Charm that links to all the badges he and his cronies are planning to distribute tomorrow. And yes… a priority enchantment to this one that gives it the absolute command authority. But there's no anti-tampering or authentication spell weaved into the mix. I guess I expected too much from this idiot."

"That could've made this a bit too unstable, don't you think?" Daphne asked curiously.

"Not if it's done properly," Harry replied. "You just weave the new spells through the ones already applied. No need to make it expansive. Density wouldn't have destroyed it."

"As you said, less work for us," Regina smirked, making Harry chuckle.

"We can get it done right here. No need to leave and then come back. Give me a few minutes," he said and conjured a blank badge next to Malfoy's, copying the spells from his. His wand moved in intricate patterns as he weaved magic from one badge to the other. Daphne and Regina watched him work at it with interest.

"You know," Harry said after a minute, his voice laced with amusement. "For all Malfoy's boasting, this is really an amateur piece of work. I'm almost disappointed that I've got to deal with this level of work."

Regina chuckled derisively. "Must've had some help from Flint and a book or two he found in the library. Ponce must've thought he was being so clever."

Harry shook his head in amusement as he kept working.

"The best part is, with just a few tweaks, I can make this new badge override his completely. Any command we send with this badge will take priority, no matter what Malfoy tries to do with his 'master' badge."

It took him only a few minutes and he leaned back, satisfaction evident on his face. "There it is. All done. This new badge is connected to all the ones Malfoy plans to hand out, and it has command priority over the original."

Daphne leaned in, examining his handiwork. Her eyes glinted approvingly as she remarked, "Nice. Anything else?"

Harry's eyes glinted malevolently, a sneer on his face as he nodded. "Just one more thing."

Daphne and Regina watched on curiously as he moved his wand in intricate patterns over Malfoy's badge which glowed a shade of electric blue for a moment. Finally done, Harry nodded and stepped back.

"What was that?" Daphne asked curiously.

"Let's just say it's a little surprise for our dear Draco, and anyone else who would willingly wear that accursed badge. If they think they can do whatever they want without any consequences, they have another thing coming."

"What have you done exactly, Harry?"

Harry turned to Daphne and the blonde was surprised to see the feral grin on his face. "When I send a particular command from my new badge, something… interesting will happen to everyone wearing a badge."

"Care to explain a bit more?" Regina asked with a raised eyebrow, her arms crossed under her bust.

"And ruin the surprise? Where's the fun in that? You'll just have to wait and see."

Harry easily levitated Malfoy's badge back to where he'd summoned it from and turned back to the girls.

"Let's go. Our work's done here," he said, pulling the cloak back over himself and holding it open for them. As the girls took their places in front of him once again, they silently made their way over to the door. They paused as Daphne opened the door and Harry turned around, taking down the stunners they had hit the five students with. They remained sleeping soundly as the door shut behind the trio who walked away without anyone being the wiser.

As they stopped at the end of the corridor that led to the girls' dormitories, Daphne and Regina exchanged an intrigued glance, both curious about Harry's little plan with those who were wearing those badges. Whatever he had planned, they did not think it would be pleasant for the idiots who would offend him like that.

"Goodnight, Daphne, Regina," Harry said, and Regina turned to him with a smirk.

"You sure you don't wanna come over? I'm sure no one will find out anything," she said with a saucy wink, much to Daphne's silent irritation. The blonde's lips thinned once again, her fist clenching on the fabric of her skirt, as she kept her eyes averted from the pair. Regina glanced over at her and a wicked smirk crept up on her lips.

"Some other time," Harry replied with a chuckle, stealing a quick kiss from the brunette who quickly deepened it, moaning quite audibly as she stared at Daphne out of the corners of her eyes. She pulled away with the same smirk, finding a perverse pleasure in teasing the other girl like this.

'Not my fault if she remains so stubborn,' Regina thought to herself. Turning back to Harry, she grinned. "See you in the morning, hotshot."

Without any further ado, she turned around and stepped out of the cloak, walking away with a purposeful sway to her hips that she knew Harry must have his eyes glued to. The smirk remained etched on her face as she vanished from sight.

Harry took his eyes off the retreating girl once she disappeared around the corner and turned to the blonde who was staring straight ahead. He jerked when she jumped as he touched her shoulder gently.

"Daphne? You okay?" He asked curiously, watching her as she breathed heavily. She remained turned away from him as he gazed at her with furrowed brows. Finally, she nodded slowly and without a word, she stepped out of the cloak and walked away briskly, leaving him more perplexed than he'd already been.

Something was most definitely up with her, and Regina was somehow involved. He was sure of that.

-Break-

The Great Hall was abuzz with incessant chatter as Harry arrived for breakfast the next morning. It was impossible for him to miss the shiny badges that many students were sporting on their robes, scattered throughout the hall. A slight smirk played on his lips as he made his way over to the Gryffindor table.

He could not help but glance at his former friends who, it seemed, did not join in the little movement that had seemingly swept the castle, and he greeted them with cordial nods. They might have drifted away, but they were not on bad terms by any means.

"Morning, Harry," an excited voice made him glance up and he saw Colin Creevey wave at him from his spot a little ways away on the bench to his opposite. The boy leaned slightly closer as he asked in a whisper, his eyes darting nervously between Harry and the students sitting proudly with those badges affixed to their robes. "Have you seen those, Harry? They're everywhere."

Harry shrugged, his voice laced with thinly veiled amusement as he kept his expression neutral, fixing his plate up. "Oh, I've noticed. Quite a fashion statement, aren't they?"

The boy leaned in further, his voice lowered. "Malfoy's been handing them out like they're going out of style. Mostly the guys have been taking it though. Reckon he's trying to start some sort of club against you?"

The little tidbit surprised Harry slightly, but when he truly thought about it, he chuckled to himself. His runes must have played a role in swaying the fair sex from indulging in such an immature act.

"I'd say it'd be more like a cult if Malfoy's involved, Colin," Harry replied with a chuckle.

He could feel the numerous eyes on him from around the hall, almost as if they were waiting for him to overtly react to this act of insult against his person. Students were whispering and there were quite a few who were pointing at him, clearly expecting some sort of reaction. It almost made him feel like they wanted to see more drama unfold from this little development. Well, if a drama was what they wanted… they'll get it soon.

For now, though, he ignored them, focusing on buttering his toast nicely with an air of nonchalance that seemed to confuse those around him, watching expectantly.

As he ate, Harry covertly observed the reactions of the students around the Great Hall. The Hufflepuff table seemed divided, but only slightly. While a few students did look uncomfortable, most were displaying their badges proudly.

The same was the case at the Gryffindor table, and once, it would have affected him, but not anymore. He knew what kind of knobheads his house was filled with, and it did not surprise him in the slightest.

At the Ravenclaw table, a group of students seemed to be analyzing the badges closely, no doubt trying to discern their magical properties which frankly, was not complicated at all. A number of those students had refrained from wearing one though, not interested in joining in with the rest in quenching their thirst for dramatics.

The Slytherin table was the most united of all, and he saw a sea of gleaming badges from where he sat, with a few of Malfoy's cronies shooting smug looks toward the other houses. However, he noticed that even in the house of snakes, there were a few boys and several girls who had refused to wear one.

From his spot, Harry exchanged a glance with Daphne and Regina. The former gave him a discreet nod while the latter winked, twirling a strand of her brown hair around her finger as she gazed at him with half-lidded eyes.

'That girl has one hell of a sex drive,' Harry thought to himself as he stared at her in amusement.

His gaze settled on Daphne who was sitting by herself and he saw the frown on her face as she ate absently, and once again, he wondered what was up with her. He kept his gaze on her for a few seconds before he sighed and turned to his plate when she kept staring at hers.

Roughly fifteen minutes must have passed and he was done with his breakfast when a small group of four reached the open doors of the Great Hall, pausing to take in the sight. Harry glanced out of the corners of his eyes and he snorted at the sight of Draco Malfoy who swaggered in, flanked by Crabbe and Goyle, with Parkinson walking alongside him… or rather, a few steps behind. Malfoy clearly kept showing her where her place was.

The little idiot's chest was proudly puffed out to prominently display the badge adorning the front of his school robes and Harry smirked as he glanced at it. The ponce had no idea what a mess he was soon going to fall in.

He saw the moron's eyes fall on him and he stood up, stepping out of his seat. The dumbass quickly pivoted toward his seat and briskly walked over, his arms spread grandly as if mimicking a supervillain in a feeble attempt to look cool.

"Well, well," Malfoy called out as he reached him, his voice carrying across the hall that had fallen silent. Students from all three schools stared at the spectacle with interest, and Harry turned toward Malfoy who gave him his trademark Malfoy sneer. "Looks like nearly every student that matters has embraced our little movement. Of course, some people," his eyes flickered over to those who had refused the badge, his lips curled in disdain. "are clearly not qualified to join, or don't have the guts. No matter."

"And a very good morning to you too, Malfoy," Harry greeted with a small smile, looking entirely untroubled. He eyed his three lackeys, smirking when the two fucks tried to look menacing by cracking their knuckles. Real trolls, they were. His eyes settled on Parkinson and he smirked, "Yeah, I much prefer the older one."

He thought he heard a familiar giggle somewhere in the distance but he could not be sure.

"You"

"Cut it," Malfoy hissed, and Pansy immediately bowed her head, stepping back. Harry had to give it to the dumbfuck. He had kept his little pleasure pet nicely trained, and although a part of him did feel bad for her, he couldn't really feel too bad, considering what kind of person she was.

The imbecile turned back to Harry and sneered. "I hope you've seen these little trinkets, Potter? My work, of course. You like them?"

Harry eyed the badge affixed to the front of the cretin's robes, the words 'SUPPORT CEDRIC DIGGORY, THE REAL HOGWARTS CHAMPION!' emblazoned proudly, and he nodded.

"Yeah, I have. Nice, and I agree. You have the right of expression. These little trinkets? They're… quaint, I'll admit."

Malfoy's face reddened slightly. "Quaint? These are symbols of true wizarding pride, Potter! These reflect fairness and unity of the masses! Not that you'd understand anything about that."

"Are they now?" Harry asked, his tone light and almost praising, but anyone with a brain could detect the mockery it carried. "Well, I must say, Malfoy, I am almost impressed. I didn't think your little brain could come up with something so… inventive. It must've taken you ages to figure out how to make them, right? Or did your dear father help you out? Merlin knows you're useless without his name… On second thought, if it's only the name, then I'm sure your father's as useless as you. It must've been your mother then, I assume? Now that's something I can imagine. I've heard how good a student she was."

Malfoy bristled, his teeth gritted, as the entire school and the contingents from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang watched on with rapt attention. Harry had to give it to the ponce, though. He had not resorted to his usual shouting yet, and considering the way he closed his eyes and breathed heavily to control himself, he had to admit that he was improving, but only marginally.

"I'm sure you'd like to see what else these badges do, eh, Potter?" Malfoy asked after a few seconds of silence, smirking ferally at him. The blonde ponce turned to regard the entire student body that was watching them. "If everyone with the badge would please stand up? I'm sure you all would also love to show Potter what's the truth about him, am I right?"

Harry glanced around and saw a large number of students rise from all four house tables, and he noted none of the students from the other two schools were involved in any manner. There were easily over a hundred students, possibly two hundred, that were now standing, and Harry glanced over at the Slytherin table where a certain beautiful blonde sat, waiting for his signal. As agreed, he gave her the go-ahead, and Daphne got to work, her wand moving under the desk.

"Here, Potter. Look at this," Malfoy smirked and puffed his chest out, and instantly, the words on all the badges changed. There was only a second of shocked silence from the student body as they took in the words emblazoned on the badges before gasps erupted around the Great Hall. The students wearing the badges stood tall and proud, their eyes straight ahead, fixated on Harry Potter who stared at the badge on Malfoy's school robes.

"Err… yeah. Nice. Although I didn't need to know that, but… yeah. Good for you," Harry said with a laugh before he eyed the rest of the students, starting with Malfoy's cronies. "And you all… well, yeah. Good for you as well."

Malfoy's brows furrowed and he asked confusedly, "What are you talking abou"

He was cut off when suddenly, someone in the distance shouted, "What the fuck is this!?"

Every student wearing a badge pulled it up and everyone's eyes widened when they saw the words on it.

"What is the meaning of this?" A dangerous voice asked in a menacing whisper that sent a chill down everyone's spines, and students gasped as a livid Severus Snape descended the small staircase at the front of the hall.

"W-What?" Malfoy whispered to himself, his eyes wide in fear as he stared at his badge that had the words 'I LOVE TO GET DOWN AND DIRTY WITH SEVERUS SNAPE' proudly emblazoned on it.

"Now, no need to be ashamed, Malfoy. We're all accepting people. I'm sure no one will judge you, or everyone else," Harry said with a snort. "I didn't know Snape had it in him though… although I'm sure it counts as abuse of position. Something to think about."

"Potter! You"

Malfoy was cut off once again when suddenly, a spark erupted from all the badges. He had the time to only widen his eyes as another spark, much more powerful, shot out of the badge and through every person wearing it. Multiple cries of pain erupted across the Great Hall and the few professors who were having their breakfast at the Head Table shot to their feet, their eyes wide.

Hundreds of students fell over right where they stood as powerful electrical shockwaves shot through them, frying the badges they were wearing as the enchantments were overloaded with sensory magic. Thuds sounded as the students went tumbling down, unconscious. A few unlucky souls hit their heads or faces hard on the ground, although Harry could not muster much sympathy for the lot. They had targeted him maliciously, after all.

He turned ahead and eyed an unconscious group in front of him as Professor Sprout cast a Sonorous and asked the conscious students to help them arrange the knocked-out students in an orderly fashion on the floor. The unconscious students all shook as static electricity still pulsed through them.

While a few students did remain behind to help, most of them chose to make their way out of the Great Hall.

Harry merely cast a disdainful glance around himself and his eyes met a livid Severus Snape who arrived near him, staring at Malfoy with a disgusted look on his face. He wondered if he should say anything to mock the resident dungeon bat but thought better of it. There was no need to invite another headache so soon after taking care of one. He returned Snape's sneer with one of his own and with a casual glance toward the Slytherin table where a certain blonde beauty blinked at him on her way out, he turned around and briskly walked out of the Great Hall, feeling the beady black eyes on his back all the while.

He knew Snape was the type to spin it all against him, and the Death Eater could try anything he wanted. The truth remained that with the badges fried and their magical composition destroyed, it was impossible to gather any proof against him. As far as anyone knew, Malfoy was the one behind everything, by his own admission, and it was impossible to deflect the blame this time.

-Break-

Several hours had passed since the chaotic incident in the Great Hall, and the place had been sealed as Madam Pomfrey tended to the affected students alongside the rest of the professors and a team of healers from St. Mungo's.

It had been nothing serious, but students had been affected nonetheless and it took a while for them all to regain consciousness. The moment they did, they said nothing but flee the scene, still shaking as the memory of the event replayed in their minds.

Albus Dumbledore sat in his office, with the heads of all four houses apart from Slytherin sitting to the side as they stared at a sneering Lucius Malfoy.

"This is outrageous, Dumbledore!" The older ponce seethed. "My son is among those affected, and you have the audacity to suggest he is the one responsible!?"

Dumbledore remained perfectly calm as he gazed at the irate man. "The fact remains that young Mr. Malfoy admitted to be the one behind the badges in front of not only Hogwarts students, but the others as well. Intentional or not, he bears some responsibility."

Filius Flitwick, sitting to Dumbledore's left, spoke up, "Perhaps we should wait for Mr. Malfoy to arrive so that he can explain himself."

"As is his right," Dumbledore agreed and the door swung open, revealing a pale and shaken Draco Malfoy standing on the other side with his hand raised to knock. He slowly pulled his arm down and slowly entered, followed by a stoic Severus Snape.

"Draco," Lucius said as his son approached, his voice a mix of concern and warning. "Explain what happened. Now."

Malfoy's usual bravado and swagger was gone. He gazed at his father, shivering, as he said, "I… I don't know, Father. The badges weren't supposed to do that. I swear I didn't mean for this to happen!"

Dumbledore's eyes twinkled with a hint of suspicion. "Mr. Malfoy, where did you get these badges from?"

Malfoy hesitated, glancing at his father who raised an inquiring eyebrow. "I… I made them with some help from Flint and the others. But they were just supposed to show messages, nothing more!"

Back and forth they went with their questioning until finally, Dumbledore sat back in his ornate chair and regarded the young lad. He believed him when he said he had not intended for an attack to take place, and the easiest explanation was that the badges had malfunctioned, which resulted in those electrocutions.

He also knew that intentionally or not, after such an attack, there needed to be some concrete punishment. Expulsion or suspension was out of the question. Lucius Malfoy would never tolerate it, but there was something that could justify the punishment and mollify the man as well. There also remained the fact that although not so extreme, young Malfoy was not innocent by any means, and he believed he could learn something from this punishment.

"You will serve one month of detention with Professor Snape," Dumbledore began, only to be interrupted by Lucius Malfoy.

"I agree. That is just punishment for a mistake like this."

McGonagall bristled and made to speak before Dumbledore interjected firmly, "I am not done here."

Lucius' lips were set in a thin like as he regarded the old wizard who turned back to regard Draco.

"You will also write a formal apology to be read in front of all the students for the dangerous mistake you've made," he said. "And you are hereby prohibited from holding the position of a Prefect or the Head Boy when the time comes."

"Now listen here, Dumbledore," Lucius Malfoy hissed as he shot to his feet, his eyes glaring. Meanwhile, Draco stared at Dumbledore with wide eyes, reeling in disbelief.

"We shall of course revisit this decision when the time comes to judge whether to uphold or do away with it," Dumbledore said benignly. "I would implore young Mr. Malfoy to be on his best of behavior and conduct himself befitting a respectful member of the student body of Hogwarts. I hope we all can count on you to turn a page, Mr. Malfoy."

"This is too much, Dumbledore," Lucius seethed, glaring.

"A befitting punishment for this act would have been an expulsion from Hogwarts, Mr. Malfoy," McGonagall interjected firmly. "The headmaster is being as lenient as he could possibly he. It is unbecoming that you are treating this dangerous act as something so trivial."

Lucius turned his glare at the woman who merely stared at him in disdain. His lips curling in a sneer, he held his son by the shoulder and stepped out of his chair.

"By your leave then," he gritted out and turned around with his son, briskly walking out of the office.

"I believe this requires for stricter policies regarding contrabands. Argus will be pleased," Dumbledore remarked with slight amusement as everyone stared at the departing duo in silence.
