Maybe after hearing the crude thoughts we consider wisdom, his Excellency your brother will spare us one or two pieces of advice. If only we could see the path forward, we old fellows would gladly burn ourselves to light it up for those after us."
Indeed, there was no free meal in the world, not back home, nor out here in the dark space. That was to be expected, and there was nothing wrong about it.
Jack raised an eyebrow, and glanced at Hannah, but elder Onhalu turned around without waiting for an answer, much less a promise of any sort.
