Darkness. Even without opening his eyes, Lucas could feel it. He drifted through it, the environment not weightless, but with little effect on him other than directing his course. He was part of the ocean of blood-red water, and he moved with its heavy and destructive currents. Even the weight that should have been more and more prevalent with the deeper depth just passed through him.
With an empty mind, Lucas didn't think about where he was, after having journeyed with currents in all directions for miles upon miles. He was instead focused on giving his blood the same power as the empowering currents, and in the same vein, his whole body. But that last part was for later.
It was those currents which had made the seemingly weightless, innocuous even, water become so deadly, those currents and the gravity from when part of the water was separated from the ocean.
