Adam had a fantastic sleep after the feast—the best he ever had. Even as the morning sun rays filtered through the windows to warm his sleepy face, his heart beat a delighted tune, and his lips curved.
He nudged Misha's tender cheeks. "Wakey, sleeping beauty. Time to tackle yet another day."
She yawned, then reached for the back of his neck. Giggling, she brought him into a hug and planted a warm kiss on his cheek. "Mhh. Aren't you supposed to wake the sleeping beauty with a kiss?"
He patted her head with a grin. "I guess so. I'll wait for you to eat a poisoned apple your body can't resist. After, let's say, six years of coma? I'll appear wearing shining armor on a white stallion, bend over the flowery coffin you lie in and give you a magic kiss full of love and longing."
