So… Daniel just said "Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V," and called it a day, huh??
Same backstory, same hair, SAME EVERYTHING.
Daniel Adler is a fraud.

Everyone is copying from the ancient Greeks.
Adler is copying from Adler.
True GOAT behavior.

Fun fact: Daniel actually ghostwrote The Odyssey. Homer was just his pen name.

EXCLUSIVE: Heath Ledger Cast as The Joker in The Batman Sequel
By The Hollywood Reporter
June 2014
In a surprise announcement that's already sending shockwaves through comic fandoms and industry circles alike, DC Studios has confirmed that Academy Award–nominated actor Heath Ledger has been officially cast as The Joker in the highly anticipated sequel to The Batman.
The film—once again directed by acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan and starring Jensen Ackles as the Caped Crusader—was originally slated for release in March 2015, but has now been pushed to May 1, 2015. Sources close to the production cite "significant creative adjustments" to accommodate Ledger's return to the screen after nearly a decade away from acting.
Ledger, now 35, has been largely out of the public eye since 2009, when he quietly stepped away from Hollywood following a run of emotionally demanding performances. His absence was long believed to be a permanent retirement, with the actor relocating to Australia and avoiding the limelight entirely. Today's casting announcement has therefore been met with both astonishment and anticipation.
The news comes on the heels of the critical and commercial success of 2013's The Batman, hailed by many as the "best superhero movie ever made." With Ledger now on board, Nolan, Adler, and DC Studios are aiming to take the sequel to even greater heights.
Still, not all reactions have been positive.
Despite Ledger's respected filmography, which includes standout performances in Brokeback Mountain, Candy, and 10 Things I Hate About You, some fans remain skeptical about whether the actor can fully inhabit the chaotic, unpredictable nature of the Clown Prince of Crime. Online forums have been flooded with heated discussions, with names like Willem Dafoe, Johnny Depp, and Crispin Glover often cited as more "expected" contenders for the role.
"Heath Ledger as the Joker? That's… not the name you expect to hear," one user on MovieVerse.com commented. "He's a great actor, no doubt. But Joker? No, sorry—no. I think it's a mistake."
Others have been more optimistic, drawing comparisons to past casting controversies that ultimately proved critics wrong.
"Nobody thought Michael Keaton could be Batman either," one Reddit user wrote. "Give the man a chance."
According to insiders, Ledger's casting came after an extended creative discussion between the actor, Nolan, and DC Studios creative lead Daniel Adler, who reportedly played a key role in bringing Ledger back into the fold. The actor is said to be "deeply committed" to the role.
Whether Ledger's Joker will silence the doubters or reignite the debate remains to be seen.
One thing's for certain: The Dark Knight is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about films of 2015—and its hype train is only just leaving the station.
The Dark Knight is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2015.

Thread Title: Heath Ledger as The Joker… What Are They Thinking?!
Posted by u/Bat88
Okay, I don't know who needs to hear this, but this is a MASSIVE mistake.
Heath Ledger? Really? The guy from A Knight's Tale? The dude who hasn't acted in years and disappeared off the face of the Earth? And now suddenly he's the Joker?
This isn't "bold casting" — this sucks. They had the world at their feet after The Batman crushed it: Jensen was a great Bruce, the tone was perfect, and Nolan and Adler nailed Gotham. Now they want to ruin it with a left-field Joker no one asked for?
I swear, this has "we're reinventing the Joker" written all over it. What, is he going to be sad and misunderstood now? Are we getting "arthouse Joker"? Or worse — sympathetic Joker?
I can't believe they pushed the release date for this. They're clearly rewriting stuff around Ledger. I bet he doesn't even wear makeup. It'll be scars or tattoos or some edgy "twist" no one wants.
I'm genuinely worried the sequel is going to crash and burn.

Absolutely agree. This has disaster written all over it.

I lovedThe Batman and was hyped for the next one, but this casting? It killed my excitement completely.
u/Sasophy
My theory is they're turning Joker into a tragic antihero.
u/MrGothlight
This role was MADE for Crispin Glover, and everyone knows it.
u/Btyturns
Y'all remember the Jensen Ackles backlash when he was cast and how that turned out?
Might be jumping the gun…
…but yeah, this one's way harder to defend.
u/NighNonsense
This casting feels like someone at DC lost a bet.
"You know what would be wild? Let's bring back the guy from 10 Things I Hate About You to play the Joker. Lol."

DANIEL ADLER IS THE PROBLEM. I said it. Too much power, too many "bold ideas."
Stop trying to be different. Just give us what works.

I hate this community. No joke. You people freak out every time a creative decision is made.
Y'all haven't even seen a frame of this film. Chill.

You people would've hated Keaton too if this forum existed in 1988.

We are literally one trailer away from everyone pretending they always trusted Heath.

Heath paced slowly around the room, barefoot on the hardwood, hands moving expressively as he spoke.
"The hair should be dark green or darker…," he said, eyes narrowed in thought.
He turned back to face me. "And the makeup… it should never be perfect. It should crack. It should sweat. It should feel like war paint that's been worn for too long."
I nodded along. Working with Heath was made easier because I knew exactly what I wanted in his portrayal of the Joker—I had seen it, after all—so I just needed to nudge things along in these sessions.
"I love the scar idea," he said suddenly, snapping his fingers.
I was about to respond when his tone shifted—there was a beat of hesitation.
"I… I've been reading some of the reactions online," he admitted.
I groaned. "Heath, no. Don't do that."
He raised his eyebrows.
"I'm serious," I said. "I don't know if you realize this, but comic fans can be… very passionate. Let's say that."
He gave a little smirk, but I kept going. "Look, man—just don't even go there. It's not worth it."
He nodded. "Yeah. Yeah, I know. It's just… I don't know. Some of it was kind of disheartening."
I leaned forward. "Trust me—the second they see what we're building here, they'll all be lining up to suck your dick."
He burst out laughing, full-body, hand on his chest.
And that's when my phone rang. I checked the screen—Adrian, my chief of staff.
I picked up. "Hey, Adrian."
There was a pause.
Then: "What?"
Another pause. "Sorry, say that again."
"What do you mean I'm getting sued?"
