Dark Pov
Once I enter the hallway again I look around to make sure no flood or sentinels have appeared in my absence luckily for me it appears not but best remain cautious just in case with the I continue on following the map Destiny that she made from the schematic of the facility as I walk down the long hallway I come across multiple doors bit none of them lead to the keys chamber so i ingnore them and continue further along the hallway but what suprises me is that not a single sentinel appears and no flood ether what could be going on even if they have no intelligence they should still be around the facility hallways same with the sentinels they should still be roaming around but the only ones I have seen are the ones at the first room and the spider sentinel.
While in my thoughts I came to the end of the hallway to find the door was locked the first think I think of it to see if there's a secret terminal Hidden in one of the wall but to my disappointment there was not" great does this mean I have to search for another root to the key" I look at the map to see that there is no other path leading to the room with the key[ Dark I have looked at the schematic there appears to be something strange about thes facility there's an extra door in this hallway that leads no where according to the schematic which means either it's there to fool uninvited guests or it's something that it leads to something the forerunners did not want to be discovered by others] after listening I think back to the door Destiny mentioned if I remember right the door in question was not locked maybe just mayby theres a way to the key through there or at least a way to unlock this door with that I make my way back to the door that I ignored originally on my way here.
As I approach the door it opens revealing a room that can only be described as tiny but in the centre was a hole in the shape of a circle which from my knowledge of the games looks exactly like a gravity lift which means I just jump in and it should take me down it seems. Why would they have this here did they expect intruders and wanted a secret way to get the key to prevent premature use of the ring or did they build this for another reason with that thought I walk over and jump into the gravity lift.
As the gravity lift takes me down I notice bits of biomass on the walls in the room I am descending to " I guess this is where the flood came from" while saying this I finally realize where the Gravemind that's currently in the library came from it was originally here which means it found a way to get from here to the library which means I might be able to use that method to get there after I get the key as I was in my thoughts I suddenly come to a stop I look around to see I have reached the room at the bottom of the gravity lift so I exit it and look around through all the biomass on the walls I see a light that seems to resemble that of a terminal i quickly make my way towards it riping the biomass covering it away before connecting my helmet to thw terminal [ well this explaons why there is so much biomass here it appears that this place is a research facility that was created to study the flood infection the command facility above is nothing more than a cover to prevent intruders from discovering this place and according to the data they were researching how to inhibit the flood hive mind and they succeeded and created away to prevent the flood from receiving instructions from the hive mind causing them to act with no intelligence however there's a problem if we take the key the inhibitor will shut down and I am sure you know what that means but i do have good news i found a portal device that will take you to the library but its on the opisite side to the gravity lift that takes you to the key meaning once you get the key you will have to fight both the flood and sentinels] listening to her I had to decide fast but the data on how to make the inhibitor will be useful so I just ask her to copy everything since if I remember right the flood will go to earth during the events of halo 3 so I need to take any advantage I can get.
After about 30 minutes Destiny informs me that I can disconnect from the terminal and she quickly uses the schematic she got to produce a map for me to use and just as she said the portal device is in the opposite direction of the gravity lift that leads to the key I sign thinking about my lack of ammo to do this but at least I can take the sentinels weapons after I destroy them so I should be fine as long as I do not run into another spider sentinel with that I head to the door that leads into the facility and head inside.
A/N that's it for this chapter hope you like it also once the MC has completed his mission from the system than he will no longer be on the halo ring this means he will not be on the ring for the rest of the events of halo 2 I decided this root because after the mission the mc and his team could effect the events and cause a negative impact on the plot thats why the reward for the mission states that the ship he will get is far way from the ring.
