Chapter 1 - Tengen Yuuichi

Within the past week a violent throwdown right here in the district of downtown Osaka between a currently unidentified esper and a monstrous Frankenstein donned Keibetsu by the public. The battle was the primary cause of the damages to public property displayed on the screen and endangered the lives of many citizens. At the time of the near terrorist-like event, clear video footage was caught with a bird's eye view in which the esper was seen "slicing" through an entire building. An estimated fortysix people occupied that very building at the time and have died as a result of his actions. An additional fifty more were hospitalized due to having sustained grave injuries. Authorities claimed the Frankenstein was neutralized by Yagami Uzui, currently known worldwide as the most powerful esper. In an exclusive interview with the head of police, chief officer Kazui Nagata, further revealed that the monster was ultimately killed in a vat of highly corrosive acid which acted as a counterforce to the monster's impressive regeneration. Regardless, many citizens are angered and are expressing that anger by pressing charges for the recent 'attack' as they called it. The prime minister also had a say in the matter. Casualties are a common occurrence in war, he siad. When two opposing forces as destructive as Frankenstein and esper collide in a densely populated residential area it is only natural we expect many deaths. We cannot choose what the Frankenstein destroy only how much they destroy, reports the prime minister in a conclusive speech. In contrast to the prime minister's way of thought, chief officer Nagata strongly disliked the method of action taken by the espers. It's clear their first priority is to kill those things, not saving the people and that's wrong; he argued. Mark my words, at some point people will tire more of the espers than the Frankenstein and they'll be hunted down like dogs.
