Chapter 5 - Encounter with Ning'er

Nie Li spent time contemplating his next steps. He wanted to avoid altering the future too drastically but also ensure the safety of his friends and family. For two days, he spent 2 days figuring out the part of the new technique that omits its presence from the senses of the sage emperor he wanted to adapt his friends techniques and make them all the same as his since he started practicing the technique and given his experience from his two lives it was just a matter of time and then he integrated this aspect in the techniques of his friends improving them in the process making their absorption of energy faster but also making them able to absorb 2 demon spirits

On their trip to the forest, events unfolded just as they had in his previous life. There, he saw her again—the beautiful girl with orange hair, her figure bathed in moonlight. Her delicate face, seemingly from another world, wore a frown that pierced his heart more deeply than the pain of losing his life.

This girl, still in her teenage years, should have been living in beauty and brilliance, praised as a genius wherever she went. But her small frame seemed to carry an unbearable burden, one that would crush even a strong man under its weight. Nie Li felt an overwhelming urge to help her, to carry her burden, to protect her from all harm.

Suddenly, she heard footsteps and called out, "Who's there? Why are you following me? What do you want?"

Nie Li stepped forward. "It's me, Nie Li, your classmate. I assure you, I wasn't following you. I just happened to see you by accident."

Ning'er did not lower her guard. Her experiences had taught her not to trust easily; people always seemed to have hidden motives.

"Well," Ning'er said coldly, "now you've seen me, classmate. If there's nothing important, could you please leave? I'd like to meditate in peace."

Nie Li began to retreat slowly but then stopped. "Classmate Ning'er," he said, "if you don't mind me asking, have you been feeling cold when you try to sleep, unable to rest because of a bone-chilling pain? Has your training speed slowed down? Do you feel that same pain whenever you circulate your soul energy? And do you have small bruises around your body?"

As Ning'er listened, her expression shifted from surprise to sadness, and finally, a faint glimmer of hope appeared in her eyes. How does he know all this without examining me? she wondered.

"If you know what's happening with my body," she said, "and if you know how to treat me, I'll compensate you—however you want."

Nie Li squinted, giving her a meaningful look. "Anything?" he asked, his tone teasing.

Ning'er looked confused for a moment, then quickly realized what he meant. Her face flushed with embarrassment. "Any-anything," she stammered.

Nie Li chuckled. "Alright, I'll stop teasing you. I do know how to treat you, and I understand what kind of ailment you're suffering from. In the future, you must avoid training at night. If you continue, not even a god could help you, unless you practice a better technique that provides purer energy absorption."

He paused, then added, "Since you mentioned compensation, I won't be shy. I need you to help me purchase some Purple Haze Grass, and I'll give you the money later."

Nie Li wasn't trying to take advantage of her kindness; he didn't want Ning'er to feel indebted to him. His interest in her was genuine, and he hoped that one day she would care for him, not because he saved her life, but because of who he was.

Nie Li proceeded to teach her the Dao Yin technique, explaining how it would expel the Yin energy that had accumulated in her body from training under the moon. The technique required someone with knowledge of it to massage the bruised areas, expelling the Yin energy in the process.

Gathering her courage, Ning'er asked, "Could you... help me with the massage?"

Nie Li scratched the back of his head awkwardly. "It requires direct contact with the skin for it to work, and that doesn't seem very appropriate. I wouldn't want to take advantage of you."

Blushing, Ning'er responded, "The fact that you're concerned about that says a lot about your character. I trust you. You won't take advantage of me."

Nie Li nodded, a little more confident now. Unlike in his previous life, he knew how to treat her properly and was much stronger. He focused his energy on the massage, using all his strength to dispel the Yin energy, determined to cure her once and for all.

After a while, he wiped the sweat from his forehead. "Is that all?" he asked.

Ning'er, her face still red, shook her head slightly. Her hands trembled as they moved toward her chest, lifting her shirt just enough to reveal her jade-like skin. Nie Li's eyes widened, momentarily entranced by her beauty.

She cleared her throat, snapping him back to reality. Embarrassed, Nie Li quickly apologized. "I'm sorry! You're incredibly beautiful, and any man would be a fool not to notice. Please, forgive me."

Ning'er wasn't angry. In fact, she felt a strange warmth inside at his compliment. Her cheeks flushed as she gave him a shy nod, signaling him to continue.

With utmost care and focus, Nie Li completed the treatment, healing Ning'er completely.
