Qin Yin panicked and rushed forward to grab the knife from Tao Miao's hand. Tao Miao stepped back, and the knife scraped Qin Yin's hand before falling to the ground.
Qin Yin first glanced at Mrs. Ning to make sure she was not injured, then she looked at her own hand, which had only received a small cut, nothing too serious.
"Qin Yin, why is it you?" Tao Miao asked somewhat frantically.
"What are you trying to do? How can you feed Mrs. Ning an apple in her condition? She can't eat that," Qin Yin said with a frown.
Before Tao Miao could respond, the ward's door was pushed open again. It was Mrs. Ning's daughter, carrying a basin of water. She was slightly startled to see Qin Yin and then exclaimed, "Mrs. Nan, why are you here?"
"I came to see how Mrs. Ning is doing. Is she any better?" Qin Yin asked.
"It's the same as before," Mrs. Ning's daughter said with concern, "I don't know if she can get better."
"So it's just you taking care of her this afternoon?" Qin Yin asked again.
