Chapter 151 - The End

"When is Sato coming back?!"

Yugito's teeth itched in anger. Raising her legs, she kicked a humanoid figure covered in cracks.

"It's been three months since he transplanted our purest cloned Byakugan, and left with Hinata for the moon."

"He left, but we followed his plan and conquered the other villages, then signed an alliance treaty like he wanted."

"But things have gone bad after that. We need him here, and he still hasn't returned."

Yugito wiped her sweat weakly. Around her, there were zombies with cracked bodies; smoke was lingering in the area.

A constant smell of burning flesh stayed in the air. This was a familiar sight to Yugito; this was the sight of war.

Yugito was on a battlefield, like many other Shinobi of the new alliance.

"Yugito, you shouldn't blame Sato. Nobody could have predicted this would happen."

A soft cat's voice responded to Yugito's complaints.

"When the alliance killed Obito and freed me from the ten tails, I also believed everything was over."

"Sato's plan had brought peace; the world had stabilized. I was free to do what I wanted, without being sealed inside you as a jinchuriki."

"But that guy, Kabuto, didn't let us enjoy peace. He triggered another meaningless conflict."

Matatabi grumbled while looking around. The situation here was becoming increasingly dangerous. So she grabbed Yugito with her mouth and ran to a safer area.

Just a few days ago, everything was still fine. People naively thought things would end post-Obito's death. That people can live in peace.

They were wrong.

'This situation sucks.'

Yugito rubbed her eyebrows while standing on Matatabi's head.

"You know, when Kabuto came a few days ago, nobody cared. He was just Orochimaru's henchman."

"But in the end, he did something so outrageous."

Yugito felt absurd thinking about the situation.

"We were taken by surprise when he used edo tensei, revived hundreds of Famous Shinobi, and controlled them all."

"With his immortal soldiers and their overwhelming military might, he attacked our newfound alliance."

"This guy triggered a whole new conflict, just to destroy everything Sato had built."

"He said Sato destroyed everything about Lord Orochimaru, so he will do the same with Sato."

"The cycle of hatred will continue."

Yugito and Matatabi had a headache thinking of this. Sato had indeed tortured Orochimaru to death.

But Sato went after him because Orochimaru had killed his teammates. It was the right thing to do, from Sato's perspective.

This whole thing began when Neji was killed. Everything spiraled down after that incident.

Calling it the cycle of hatred was the right way to put it. Sato had taken his revenge; now Kabuto was taking his.

This was how the Ninja world was. The cycle of hatred repeats itself, with a new protagonist each time.

Matatabi had experienced this before; she had lived through this cycle for a thousand years.

And now she was experiencing it again.

'Although I have a feeling that this time things will be different.'

'Maybe Sato can break the cycle of hatred. After all, he has already saved us tailed beasts.'

Matatabi always believed that the 'savior', about whom Sage used to talk was Sato Nii.

She told her fellow tailed beasts about her thoughts; some of them agreed with her, but most of them didn't.

She hoped Sato could end the hatred cycle, so the remaining tailed beasts could realize that Sato was the savior.

"Don't get distracted, Matatabi; we might be in trouble."

Matatabi heard Yugito's warning and stopped in her tracks. Above them, there were three people flying in the sky.

Her cat face tensed up, and the hair on her body exploded. Matatabi felt a fatal aura from one of these people.

She felt close to this aura, like it was her birthplace, but that was what scared her more.

"Who are you guys?!"

Sensing Matatabi's horror, Yugito questioned the newcomers with caution.

One of them was a woman with paper white skin and a pair of white eyes; the other two were covered in green chakra cloaks. She couldn't see their faces.

They were floating in the air, staring at Yugito and Matatabi.

"You don't recognize me?"

One of the guys covered in green chakra seemed surprised. He snapped his fingers and removed the chakra cloak around him.

"Sato..!"

Recognizing the man, Yugito's face filled with surprise.

"You are back! And you can fly?"

"What happened to your Byakugan? How did your eyes turn blue??"

Yugito sent a barrage of questions to Sato, who folded his hands and floated down to her level.

He was followed down by the two individuals behind him. All three stood face to face with Yugito.

"Relax, sister. I know a lot has happened since I was gone, but I will fix this in no time."

Sato smiled warmly, assuring her that everything was going to be alright.

"As for my eyes, I found some ruins on the Turtle Island, which said Byakugan can evolve like the Sharingan."

"But it only evolves on the moon."

"To try this out, I went there with Hinata. We had some help, and both of us evolved our Byakugan."

"I can fly because of that. Our new tenseigan, is just as powerful as the rinnegan."

Sato first answered his sister, then pointed towards the two people floating besides him.

"You can't see her face, but she's Hinata; she can't deactivate her chakra cloak; she hasn't mastered it yet."

"And the one on my left is Kagyua Otsutsuki. We met sometime ago. Me and Hinata have evolved easily, due to her help."

"When we found her, she was quite rude, but then we had a small spar, and she agreed to stick around."

Sato casually introduced Kaguya, but Yugito could tell from Kagyua's reaction that their 'spar' was definitely not simple.

Kagyua seemed a little afraid of Sato and Hinata. Maybe the reason Sato took so long to return, was because they were fighting Kagyua.

Yugito was sensitive to chakra; she could feel a suffocating pressure coming from Kagyua.

This woman was the most dangerous creature she had seen.

'This is the ancestor of chakra...'

Matatabi was also screaming internally.

'It's a good thing Sato met her. He must have manipulated Kagyua and tricked her somehow.'

'Neither Sato nor Hinata are capable of defeating the ancestor, even with the Tenseigan.'

'But Sato is smart. Although he is weaker than her, he convinced her to stay with him.'

Matatabi didn't know what Sato said to Kagyua. But she believed he had a plan. He always had one.

Meanwhile, Sato seemed to have smelled Matatabi's fear. He winked at her, then patted Kagyua on the shoulder.

"Kagyua sama~ do you see those zombies? The one's with cracked skin?"

Sato pointed towards the Edo tensei zombies.

"They have infinite chakra. You can go and feed on them."

"If you capture them, you will never run out of chakra."

Kagyua flinched a little. But she activated her Byakugan and scanned the Edo tensei zombies.

They weren't stronger than her. This gave her some confidence; she nodded to Sato.

"You promised to give me chakra. Thank you for keeping your promise."

"I need a lot of chakra. If they have infinite chakra, I will also keep my promise to you."

"I will work with you; together we will fight off the Otsutsuki clan."

Kagyua raised her hands and floated away. Sato happily watched her leave.

Booom

He watched with glee as Kagyua began eating the Edo tensei zombies. Her hands were quick, and her mouth was wide.

The Ninja Alliance was shocked and excited. Their backup was very powerful.

Meanwhile, seeing his immortal soldiers get captured by Kagyua and used as batteries made Kabuto's face deathly pale.

Sato enjoyed the lightshow. Watching Kagyua fight for the ninja alliance instead of against them, was a great experience.

'Waiting for Kabuto to use edo tensei was worth it.'

Sato thought darkly.

'I could have stopped this incident, right when I first noticed Kabuto from the moon.'

'But the alliance needed a common enemy, and Kagyua needed chakra. Kabuto was perfect for this job.'

'His existence has united the Ninja Alliance.'

All this time, Kabuto thought he was slick. But he was constantly under Sato's eyes.

Sato used the giant Tenseigan on the moon to manage the scale of this conflict, and kept an eye on Kabuto.

Until the right time arrived, he didn't intervene. In a way, Sato purposely let this happen.

"After Kagyua is done, it's time for the final touch. Karin will revive the dead Shinobi, and I will kill Kabuto."

Sato smiled at Matatabi and whispered.

"With Kabuto dead and their friends and family revived, people will have no reason to hate. The cycle of hatred will break."

"How is it, Matatabi? Did I succeed in bringing peace? And breaking this old cycle?"

For the first time in life, Matatabi was out of words. She just looked at Sato and his glowing blue eyes.

Remembering the prophecy about the blue-eyed Savior again, Matatabi smiled gently.

"Yes, although peace isn't there yet. But I believe it's not far off."

"The cycle of hatred is about to end."

Closing her eyes, Matatabi mentally connected with the other tailed beasts.

All-tailed beasts can do this, but they usually don't. Matatabi made an exception today.

"Sato, I will take your picture."

Matatabi looked at Sato with her multicolored eyes.

"Say cheese!"

Blinking like a camera shutter, Matatabi shared Sato's image with the tailed beasts.

She believed they would understand that they had reached their destination.

The life of being hunted by humans is over. And so was Sato's story.

The End.
