The elevator had already stopped on the 19th floor, but Bright Sampton and Jane Sampson did not leave the elevator.
A few seconds later, the elevator doors closed again.
Bright pressed the button for the 1st floor.
"Sister, let's just go back home," Bright finally began to regain the sense that had been stunned by the sudden text message, "Listening to your analysis, it indeed seems that something's off at every turn."
Bright continued, "Having not seen your daughter for so long, and now when she's within reach, wouldn't she want to at least talk on the phone first? Since we have a phone number, why convey it through a middleman?"
When the elevator reached the first floor, Bright immediately took Jane's hand and left the hotel without a word, returning to the hotel they were staying in.
After closing the room door, Bright sat on the sofa, his demeanor very serious.
