Norris Moore had just finished speaking when she felt him slightly startle.
He was always inscrutable, but in that instant, it was as though her words had wounded him, a shadow of pain flickering across his expression.
"You seem to really dislike me," he said, his tone indistinguishable, looking at her impassively.
Norris felt her heart twitch at his words, an inexplicable tightness emerging in her chest.
She averted her gaze from his face, her tone softening considerably yet with an underlying firmness, "I don't dislike you. I just find you very strange... I'm not particularly keen on going to the hospital."
For some reason, she always felt a resistance towards this man in front of her.
He made her... somewhat afraid.
It wasn't the fact that he had pulled a gun yesterday to take her away from Charles Green that scared her—he had actually been quite the gentleman to her—but rather, she inexplicably felt that being with this man could harm her baby.
