Bai Ling took great care with the task assigned by Su Xin. After instructing others in the White Lotus Sect to cultivate peacefully and avoid causing trouble, she prepared to personally deliver the Seven-Colored Lotus to Su Xin.
The White Lotus Sect had many portals to the outside world. The one closest to the Northwestern Province was located at the border between the Northwestern Province and the Golden Khanate, in a desolate area, very hidden—a typical choice for the White Lotus Sect to establish a portal.
However, when Bai Ling was about to leave through this portal, she unexpectedly discovered that it had become invalid.
It was then that Bai Ling remembered the circumstances under which Mother of No Birth had fled. She must have used some secret technique and escaped through this portal but, fearing pursuit from Su Xin and others, she had destroyed the portal after her escape.
