Quil, Roco, and Eli get through the gym's maze and arrive at the battle arena. The gym leader, Whitney, runs over to greet them.
Whitney: Hiii! Congratulations, you guys got through that maze like, super quick! I'm Whitney, it's so nice to meet you!
Roco: So pretty...
Whitney: Awww, you're so adorable! Goldenrod Rod gym welcomes all cute Pokémon and Pokémen alike, you should totally become one of my gym trainer!
Quil: Sorry, but we're just here to get our badge. Can we get this gym battle started please?
Whitney: Hmph, fine. Teddiursa, go!
Here first Pokémon is Teddiursa. Roco is up first and he jumps at it using Ice Fang, grabbing the bear and throwing it into the air. On its way down, Roco blasts it with a Water Gun. He finishes it off with a Low Kick.
Whitney: I didn't even get to get off one attack... That's okay though, I still have two more Pokémon. Clefairy, you're next!
Her second Pokémon is Clefairy.
Whitney: Use Metronome!
Clefairy wiggles it's finger and down comes giant meteors.
Roco: Is that even a move Clefairy can use?!
Whitney: Nope, but with Metronome, anything is possible!
Roco is knocked out from the Draco Meteor.
Whitney: I'm sorry cutie. Here, let me take care of you.
She picks Roco up and feeds him a revive.
Whitney: There, you can stay with me until this is over and I'll give you some nice Moomoo milk to fix you right up.
Roco: That sounds nice...
He falls asleep in her arms.
Quil: Roco!
Whitney: Stop being so mean and let me take care of your friend!
Eli: I'll drag Roco back, don't worry.
Eli is next and uses Rock Tomb to trap Clefairy.
Whitney: Clefairy, Metronome again!
This time, Metronome calls Explosion, destroying the rocks and a large chunk of Eli's health, but knocks out Clefairy in the process.
Whitney: Guess I got unlucky, sorry Clefairy. All I have left is Miltank, do your best Miltank!
Her Miltank is thrown out and uses Attract on Eli. He becomes infatuated and unable to attack.
Whitney: Now use Rollout until he's knocked out!
Miltank rams into Eli over and over again, each hit getting stronger and stronger while he sits there helplessly in love. He's quickly knocked out.
Whitney: Yippee! That's another one down, good job Miltank!
Quil: Looks like it's just me to win this badge-
Whitney: Use Attract!
Quil is put into a trance immediately as he steps into the battle. He doesn't even realize he's sent flying out of the gym by Miltank's Rollout.
