Sil chuckled as he and Benny chased each other down the leaf filled path as we walked to Saffron's house. Milo had picked us up from school and taken us to his place to goof around for a few hours.
It wasn't the first time, but the slightly tension in shoulders told me he was hidin' something. Had something happened while we were at school?
Sil, oblivious to my worries, ran ahead with Benny, their backpacks bouncing against their backs as they veered off the path to explore the fallen leaves. I envied their carefree nature.
Sigh. I used to be like that too, not all that long ago. When did I start to change? Argh! If I kept being a worrywart, I might end up just like big bro and Ma– a stick in the mud!
I shook my head, tryin' to dispel the negative thought. I needed to focus on the present, to find the joy in the little things, just like my brother and cousins did!
