My grip on the tails of the kitsune intensified. "So, you're the father of Cyra, correct?"
He grunted. His crimson tails glowing, lighting on fire, but my grip remained.
"Leave my family alone," I repeated before spinning.
The man vanished into a wisp of flame and reappeared rushing toward Ma, Rose, and Anis.
"No!" I roared as a purple aura covered me. The entire illusion shook.
The man turned to look at me, his eyes wide.
"I said to leave them alone! This is the last I will repeat myself."
The man crossed his tails, defending against my fist. The clash created a powerful shockwave that made his illusionary space flicker.
The air crackled as we exchanged blows, his flaming tails striking against my fists like whips of fire. But I pushed through, fueled by the need to protect my family. Each hit only intensified my determination. I would not let him reach them.
