Not long after they finished digging the pits, Li Lingyun and Chen Jianmin pushed a cart filled with pig manure over.
Seeing the father and son covered in dirt, Li Lingyun asked, "Third Brother, are you done digging the pits?"
Li Chenmo wiped the sweat from his forehead and replied, "We finished digging three pits. We will use these first, and if they are not enough, we will dig more later."
Li Lingyun nodded and poured the pig manure into the newly dug pits. Afterward, he and Chen Jianmin returned to the pigpen to transport the rest.
Once they had left, Li Chenmo and Dong Li began mixing the fertilizer. It took them over an hour to finish.
When they returned to the pigpen, Li Lingyun asked, "Third Brother, are you going to the brigade today?"
Li Chenmo nodded and replied, "I should be able to get it done today."
