Gao Ming felt as though happiness had arrived out of nowhere. Not only would he be going to the capital with Su Li, but they would also be living as neighbors. How perfect was that?
Watching their grandson's elation, Grandpa Gao and Grandma Gao couldn't help but feel a little lighter themselves.
But, of course, it wasn't all so simple. Gao Ming had been raised by them since he was little, and the thought of him suddenly leaving for the capital was harder for them to swallow than they had anticipated.
Grandma Gao tugged at her husband's sleeve, her voice filled with concern. "I'm going too. At least I should stay with my eldest grandson for a while."
Grandpa Gao thought for a moment. He was already retired and spending his days at home was growing tedious. Following his wife's lead seemed more appealing. Why not treat this like a trip?
He nodded in agreement. "Alright, we'll go too. You arrange it, but make sure there's a room for your mother and me in that courtyard house."
