Having never attended a school dance in his life, Erik had no expectations for what to expect. To him, the music was too loud and the scattered conversations of the cliques of people were just as loud. The shouting to be heard over the music was ridiculous, in his opinion. However, Liona seemed to have a blast as she dragged him to the dance floor and bust a move in time to the beat of the music. He recognized some songs that played and tried his best to keep up with his amazing mate as she danced, but the more he tried, the more he felt like a fish out of water.
Erik was floundering until the music changed to that of a slower pace. That's when Liona locked eyes with him, and that was all it took for him to feel the heat rise to his face. She reached out her hands and clasped his as she led him in time to the music, swaying to the love song that was going in one ear and out the other. All he could concentrate on was how beautiful his mate looked and how wonderfully pink his vision was getting.
Liona was having a blast dancing to some of her favorite songs and seeing Erik trying his best to keep up was adorable. When the music shifted to a ballad, she looked him in the eye, took his hands in hers and swayed gently to an old-school song from her parent's era. As they danced, she could feel her inner omega stirring. It was unusually active, considering the suppressants she had taken this evening to prepare for the dance. It wanted something that she was sure would get them kicked out for excessive displays of affection.
After the song ended, the stirring of her omega was getting more intense. They had been here for all of an hour so far, but she didn't think that if they stayed, it would make Erik any more comfortable. She could sense his alpha and his heightened state, which only made her omega more active.
Looking around, she spotted Chloe and Allison nearby, giggling happily as they spoke with a couple of boys from Erik's school. Not wanting to interrupt them, Liona led Erik to a side door in the auxiliary gym that would let out closer to the main school building. Opening it and pulling him outside, she breathed a sigh of relief. It had felt suffocating in the building with so many other alphas and omegas nearby. She only wanted to be with her mate right now, so even if everyone had their pheromones under control, it still felt overwhelming and icky, with the small amount floating around.
Erik didn't know why Liona had led them outside, but once they were, it felt somehow less oppressive. There had been a lot of subtle colors that clashed in his vision, when all he wanted to see was that beautiful rose pink that his mate always had about her. However, she didn't stop when they left the building and she kept hold of his hand as she led the way around the building and wove her way around several other buildings before getting back to the parking lot. Before long, they got to Liona's car, but she had yet to say a word; not that he was complaining, since he was just happy to spend this time with her.
Once, Liona had guided Erik to her car, taking a longer route to avoid the patrols of Epsilon officers on security duty tonight; she pinned her mate against it and took liberties with his mouth. She had been craving the feel of him all evening, but had been trying to behave herself. Her insistent omega was voicing its desire incessantly in her head until she gave in. At least this should quiet it down for now. Or so she thought…
Not expecting Liona to pin him against the car and kiss him, Erik wasn't about to complain. In fact, something in him was stirring the longer and deeper the kiss became. The pink that flitted at the edges of his vision deepened and spread more into his primary vision as he responded to his mate's tongue that was now probing deeply and sensually as it intertwined with his. He knew something was different about this kiss, but he wasn't sure what. However, he wasn't about to complain as he pulled Liona into his arms and wrapped his arms about her waist before he spread one of his hands in the small of her back, and the other, slid up to her neck and pulled her in so she melded against his body.
Liona moaned involuntarily as her body melded with Erik's. It felt so right as she was kissed back. The feel of her mate's hot hands spread against her back and on the back of her neck nearly made her melt. But one thing snapped her back to reality. There was the loud sound of a large group of students leaving the building and heading for the parking lot. She wanted to ignore them, but Erik seemed to tense up, so she reluctantly backed off.
"Want to get out of here?" Liona asked Erik with a slightly worried inflection.
"Ye-yeah…" Erik replied shakily. He was this close to sporting, and he didn't want Liona to get the wrong idea. That and they were still very much in public, and he didn't want to be caught in such a compromising position by the security at Liona's school.
Without a second thought, Liona unlocked her car and let Erik get in as she slid into the driver's side. As she was programming her destination, she paused and looked up at her mate before ultimately deciding where to go next. She didn't want the night to end, and she still wanted to be alone with him. So she put in the cabin in the woods that her family owned as their destination. It was about an hour and a half out of town and nestled deep in the forest overlooking the river. It was just fifteen minutes away from her parent's private cabin and part of the same acreage her family had acquired over the years.
"Where are we going?" Erik asked as he noticed the houses were getting further apart. So far, he had been quietly contemplating just what the feeling that was so strong tonight was. It was more than lust, yet it wasn't lust. It was desire, yet it wasn't just that either.
"Somewhere we can be alone and spend time together without being interrupted or having to explain ourselves to nosy people." Liona replied vaguely to gauge Erik's reaction.
"Oh. Okay." Erik blushed a little as his mind wandered to the feel of his mate and how she always felt so right in his arms and her soft, supple body that seemed to just fit right against his as if she was made to be there.
The ride was mostly silent, except for the occasional small talk. Once in a while, their hands would intertwine and caress the other, but mostly they spent the ride lost in the other's eyes. That was until the car alerted it had reached the end of the navigable road and that manual driving was necessary from this point.
Taking the wheel and switching to manual, Liona carefully navigated the gravel road that led to her family's cabins. After about five minutes, the road split into a Y where the right was where she needed to go. The left would lead to her parent's private getaway and she had no plans to go there.
For one, it was filled to the brim with her parent's pheromones. For two, they would know immediately if she had disturbed anything in it and Erik's scent being there would undoubtedly raise a red flag that would lead to questions. However, the family cabin was used only during the summer and was cleaned regularly and her siblings, their friends and classmates all at one time or another would spend time here in the off season, so it wouldn't be suspicious.
Finally, Liona pulled up to the cabin and got out. Erik was close behind her, looking all around. It was dark, with no lights on outside or inside the cabin, with the only illumination coming from her car's headlights. Walking up to the front door, Liona paused and dug into her evening bag and pulled out a small set of old-fashioned keys. Finding the one she needed wasn't difficult since there were so few on the ring.
After Liona opened the door, she quickly reached around and turned on a small lamp in the entry. Erik followed her closely, feeling a little nervous. They were in the middle of a forest and, by his calculations, the closest town was miles back. But he trusted his mate. She wasn't the type to do anything reckless, nor illegal.
