Chapter 39 - Chapter 39

 "Raise your hand."

"Speak at a moderate speed, not too fast or too slow. Of course, this is for beginners like you. Once you get used to it, you'll be able to speak faster."

"Relax, look at your wand, it's about to break."

The Quidditch match was, of course, Pan Xi's prank. Malfoy's agreement with her was for him to teach Pan Xi some self-defense magic and some learning knowledge. He had mentioned it many times before, but Pan Xi always changed the topic. If not, she would find all kinds of excuses. It was normal for a spoiled young lady not to like learning.

"You can practice like this for now." Malfoy sighed. After teaching for so long, he had only taught Pan Xi a simplified version of the Iron Shield spell. He could not help but wonder if he was not suitable to be a teacher. Of course, he was more willing to believe that Pan Xi's foundation was too weak. Pan Xi had relied on his help to barely pass most of the exams last semester.

They were now on a patch of grass not far from the Quidditch stadium. The fluffy grass made one feel comfortable standing on it. He looked up at the sky. Other than a few clouds, there was only the endless blue sky. Seeing that Pan Xi's practice was on track, Malfoy relaxed and tried to focus on his own practice.

"Summon the Guardian!" He chanted loudly.

A silver-white gas spurted out from the tip of his wand, trying to gather into a recognizable shape, but in the end, it returned to the air in vain.

"Sigh." Malfoy sighed again. Half of the reason why the Guardian Charm failed was because he wanted to control the form of the Guardian Deity, but it was too difficult. He had read in some other books that the Guardian Deity represented a person's hidden, unknown, but inevitable personality. It was very difficult to control the form of the Guardian Deity, which almost meant changing one's personality.

"That's why the power of love is great." Malfoy thought of Snape's deer, and then of Tonks' rabbit turning into a wolf.

"Looks like I've been too idealistic." Malfoy felt a little defeated. No matter what, this was the first problem he had encountered that left him helpless. "Even if I have the courage to make a sacrifice, who would have thought that there would be no chance to do so?" Malfoy thought helplessly.

"I'll try again in the future." Malfoy gave up on the idea of continuing. What stopped him was the contradiction of the guardian form, not whether he had happy memories or not. Well, for someone who loved books, just thinking about the bits and pieces of knowledge he had gained was enough to make him happy.

Besides, wasn't she here as well? Malfoy glanced at Pan Xi. The memories he had with Pan Xi were enough to make him smile. He thought of the stories he had told her, and the ridiculous answers he had given her.

"You're in the wrong position again!" Malfoy hurriedly reminded when he saw Pansy's hand go crooked again.

"Got it." Pansy bared his teeth at Malfoy, looking a little impatient.

"What a headache-inducing student." Malfoy held his forehead helplessly. He finally understood the earnest advice of his former teacher.

"Look at what I've learned in the past two years of Defense Against the Dark Arts class. In the first year, Quirrell was that person's lackey, and in order to disguise himself, he was even worse than a student. This year's teacher doesn't even need to disguise himself, because he's a complete idiot. Tell me, if you're really in danger, are you going to rely on your lousy incantations?" Malfoy wanted her to understand the severity of the problem.

"Isn't Hogwarts the safest place in the world?" Pansy retorted, but her tone of protest had weakened. "Although I don't like that old man, don't others say that he's the most powerful light wizard? He should be able to protect us. "Pansy stared at him with her clear eyes." Besides, there's still you, right? "

"I can't always be by your side," Malfoy said.

"Why not?" Pansy asked, then realized that she had asked a very profound question. She lowered her head, blushing.

Malfoy was a little embarrassed by the question, but he continued, "True power is only in your own hands." He frowned slightly. "If you don't train hard, I'll have to look for Flint." The rest of his words were obvious. Malfoy felt that it was better to use the threat as a weapon to get the desired effect.

Sure enough, Pan Xi immediately obeyed. He straightened his posture and began to practice seriously.

After practicing for a while, Malfoy began to test the results of his teaching.

"Remove your weapon!" Malfoy raised his wand, and a red light shot out.

"Armor …" Before Pansy could finish her incantation, she found that her wand had left her hand and was now in Malfoy's.

Malfoy frowned slightly, somewhat dissatisfied.

"Your incantation was too fast. I couldn't react in time." Pansy began to find excuses for herself.

"The enemy won't go easy on you just because you can't react in time," Malfoy said sternly. However, he softened his tone. "The first time is understandable. Let's stop here for today."

Pansy immediately heaved a sigh of relief. After all, who was more interesting, the exciting Quidditch game or the boring incantation practice? She could happily practice Quidditch for an entire morning, but she couldn't calm down to study for even an hour.

"How frustrating." Malfoy let out a long sigh.
